Ben Williams is turning into an interesting example of what can happen if you stick at it. Outstanding junior who struggled for several years but is now coming good.

  • Good to see the 3000m steeplechase been run for the time rather than a last 800m burn up

They have just taken out a chunk of the 3k chase for brief highlights of discus and javelin. Now we are back in the chase at 6m 11sec!

      • Getting to see Ben Williams' 1st round jump, that dude has got a LOT of potential to go further still. 17.27m PB, cementing his place in 3rd on the European rankings this year.

          17.40/17.50 potential yep.

      • If ONLY MHS had been fit earlier in the summer.... To run 45.15 SB in just his 3rd race of the year shows that he is an athlete well capable of going significantly under 45 seconds, certainly faster than his PB of 44.48

        • Now we have lost the thread of the women's 5k.

          • So happy for Jess Judd! Tactical mistake from Weightman, but she'll still go to Doha. Female middle distance & distance running is looking quite healthy.

            • Good front running effort from Elish McColgan, winning the UK title in 15:21 and bits, while Jess Judd grits out the 2nd automatic place as she out-fights Laura Weightman to the line in 15:35.82. I think all three athletes will make it to Doha though.

              • That goddanged wind again... -2.5 m/s in the final of the men's 110m hurdles, so both King and Fillery never really had a chance to get the time required to qualify for Doha.. King just gets the decision ahead of Fillery, both given the same time of 13.78.

                  • Jodie Williams wins the UK title, holding off Beth Dobbin in the last 50m to cross the line in 23.07... this would have been a 22.6 or 22.7 in better wind conditions, a -4.3 m/s headwind!

                    • The top 5 women all ran really well in those conditions. Gutted for Ash Nelson to miss out once again. Any hope of GB having 4 women in the 200? Maybe if Dina wins the DL 200? Not sure of the rules.

                          • Grice, you are a 3:30 runner, the 4th fastest Britain in history, faster than Steve Ovett even.... and you decide to run it in a 3:50 jog? MORON!
