  • Track season - it ain't over 'til it's over

After the Diamond League Final, track & field keeps on going ...

For some track & field athletes their biggest event of 2023 is yet to come:
29 Sep - 5 Oct Asian Games (Hangzhou, CHN)
30 Oct - 4 Nov Pan American Games (Santiago, CHI)
27 Nov - 1 Dec Pacific Games (Solomon Islands)

There's also plenty of good meetings happening in Japan. For example:
22 - 24 Sep Japanese Corporate Championships (Gifu)
23 - 24 Sep Nippon Sports Science University (NSSU) Long Distance Meeting a.k.a. Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama)
    24 Sep Senko Challenge #2 (Kusatsu) - Women's mid & long-distance meeting
30 Sep - 1 Oct Athletics Challenge Cup (Niigata) - Japan GP Series; WA Continental Tour Bronze meeting
13 - 17 Oct National Sports Festival (Kagoshima)
    20 - 22 Oct Japanese U18 & U16 Championships (Ehime)
20 - 21 Oct TWOLAPS Middle Distance Circuit in Tokyo - Final (Tokyo) - Japan GP series
11 - 12 Nov NSSU Long Distance Meeting a.k.a. Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama)
19 Nov Kanto region University Time Trials / 10,000m Record Challenge (Tokyo)
25 Nov Hachioji Long Distance (Hachioji) - loaded Men's 10,000m meeting
25 - 26 Nov NSSU Long Distance Meeting a.k.a. Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama)
2 Dec NSSU Long Distance Meeting a.k.a. Nittai University Time Trials (Yokohama)
7 Dec Distance Challenge in Osaka (Osaka) - Japan GP series; WA Continental Tour Challenger meeting
10 Dec Japanese 10,000m Championships (Tokyo)
23 Dec NSSU Women's Long Distance Meeting (Yokohama)

And some people say "track season" is too short. Not in Japan ... it's March to December!

    India goes long too:
11 - 14 Oct Indian National Open Championships (Jamshedpur)
    29 - 31 Oct Indian Open U23 Championships (Chandigarh)
4 - 7 Nov Indian National Junior Championships (Chennai)

    And in South America ...
There's still 6 Continental Tour Challenger meetings to take place in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Paraguay.

    Live streaming:
Streaming of South American meetings is historically patchy (unless they're in Brazil). However, for the other events above, most of them will be live streamed except for the 5 NSSU Long Distance meetings which usually have some (but not all) on-demand race videos available.‚Äč
