Something bonkers about Charlie Dobson - he's now only ever raced 400m 5 times, he's run sub-46 every time and he's never not won a 400m race!!! And his 3 recorded relay splits on Power of 10 are 44.44, 44.30 and 43.75...👍 3Comment

He's just ran a 43.7 relay split and a 45.1 individual time in a race where he wasn't pushed, all after another season of injuries. Put him in a fast race next week and he's probably capable of getting down towards 44.6-44.7. With a good pre-season concentrating on 400m and if he stays fit, he could definitely have a chance of getting to Matt HS's level.Last edited by HaroldAbrahams; 07-09-23, 12:16.

Ian Hodge notes ... 'Great to see world champs 8th placer Jess Judd take 6 secs off her 5000m best tonight with 14:51.53 (seventh quickest Brit all time). Always gives 100%'
To my mind she really has taken up the mantle of Jo Pavey for this generation ... Comment

I always felt like Jess belonged at shorter distances than this, but she loves what she’s doing and is having solid success. Would love to see her medal at the EuropeansComment

Yes, I do wonder sometimes if she should have stuck at 800, maybe she could have cracked on there.Comment

Just read from t and f forum of the death of Peter Matthew's peacefully. Every fan of athletics knows of his majestic contribution to our sport. Glad to hear my old friend Stan Greenberg is still ok

Yes, good progress which is always nice to see, but with five British women faster than that this year, Revee is still going to struggle to make GB teams. -
One thing to bear in mind with Revee is she beat out everybody in the trials for Tokyo 2021 including Katie Snowdon & there were 5 faster than her that year as well. I don't think even now with her revising her PB three times in quick succession we have seen the last of her improvements. She has not had any of the benefits bestowed on our other ladies running paced Diamond League's etc.Last edited by Loop-guru; 10-09-23, 21:57. -
That's true, she could beat out someone better (on PBs) in a trials race, but she'll have to get the standard of 4.02.50 to be considered.
