Fantastic run! As ever, GB are one woman away from having a scarily good 4x100m.

Great news; I'd say they were some very slick changes away from a 'scarily good' relay. Desiree Henry ran a SB yesterday, just saying Amy Hunt might prove the missing cog, but until then with Bianca Williams finding great form, there is a quartet very capable of breaking the NR [DASHER-IMANI-Bianca-DN...] its all about the changes...

Really pleased for him...I hope this gives him the confidence to know that with a really hard winters block of training it will reap dividends... I honestly see him being sub45.

I felt Davey was the weak link in the Budapest 4x400 - his split was well behind Mitcham and Dobson. I think Dobson in particular has high potential if he stays fit and focuses on the 400 rather than 200: think he is capable of mid-44s now in the right race.

Even with this latest run he is only no 10 in the country. he does have potential but so do others.

I remember a time when GB were four women away from having a scarily good 4x100m.

Absolutely. We don't know how good we've got it right now!

E.g. 2013, British women won 4x100m bronze and the fastest 100m in the UK that year was 11.20 and fastest 200m was 22.79. This year, the entire first choice 4x100m is faster than that (2 over both distances, 1 over 100m and 1 over 200m). And next year should be the same.

I'm really optimistic about the women's sprints. It's not just the 3 sub 11 women, the renaissance of Amy Hunt and Bianca Williams is also really promising going into Paris. They've both set very competitive PBs this year when there was certainly a distinct possibility that we'd seen the best of them. They've also got more than their fair share of juniors coming through. Arguably the biggest concern is Dina.

    Well done Lansiquot.

In depth terms we’ve never had it so good. Great for the knotweed of course.

I’m not sure I see her going too much faster, but a great achievement in itself although sub 11 isn’t quite the landmark it once was.

She’ll, rightly, get some attention for this although it’s worth noting that Lincoln is 11 places ahead of her in their respective all time lists.

Wow, I did *not* have Lincoln as #121 all-time!

Daryl's progressed in a similar manner to Dina, all be it a few years delayed. Now Imani L is in the same position Daryl was in a few years ago. it's striking how similar their progressions have been. I wouldn't be surprised if Imani snuck into next year final just as DN did in Tokyo.

Spending some time nosing around the all-time lists, it's amazing that European 400m Record Holder Matthew Hudson-Smith would be =28th on the US all-time list!

In his first competition for just over two years, Tom Gale returns with 2.23 and the win in Rovereto.

Joel Clarke-Khan could only manage 2.15.

Charlie Dobson a very convincing winner in his first proper 400 of the year in Poland, 45.17. Second best of any Brit this year, and his second best time ever.

Watched the race on the stream, he won by over a second and looked unbelievable. Definitely a 44.x there in the right race. He's a serious talent.

If this is right (can anyone confirm?) it's a big breakthrough for George Mills: 3.49.64 for a mile race in Pfungstadt, Germany, 3 seconds ahead of the second placer: Pfungstädter Abendsportfest | Results | World Athletics

Wow. That's an incredible time. One to watch for next year. Too late to get him in the NY mile?

Mills is already entered for New York. Worth about a tenth of a second faster than his 1500 best.

Well those results are also on the WA stats zone. You might be overestimating the gap to 2nd by a factor of 60 though.
