Very interesting to see how Laura will do after her coaching upheaval.

Lansiquot gets a chance to mix it in the big leagues. M5000m is also quite stacked.

Faith Kipyegon is apparently going for world record pace. I can't see her holding on to the pacers as Laura and Ciara will be going for the win. I would love to see Ciara go under 4 minutes again, she is in excellent 800m form with her national record last weekend.

Mageean will top 3 I'm betting. How about Kipyegon, Welteji, Mageean .Cannot see Muir being too bothered until Mid july.

I'm loving the look of these fields.

The Men's 5000 is absolutely bonkers!! What price the current record of 6 athletes going sub-12:50 in one race going down? That was the Paris DL, 2012.

Hoping for strong runs by our European ladies in the Steeple. Mishmash is on fire at the moment. Maybe another NR for her (currently 9:13.91) ?

No sound on TV through the aerial??

It's fine on the iPlayer though.

Ah, it's OK now. For a moment, I thought my new-ish telly was knackered.

Geez, more rain in Italy after the Giro!

            Bol 52.43 starting well.

Bol looks superb. With McLaughlin missing in action so far this year, I wouldn't bet against the Dutch woman to win in Budapest...

                  Knighton was brilliant too. 19.89.

Ok I know it’s an optical illusion, but that was an incredible surge from Knighton.

Another great race in the women's steeplechase. Almayew looks like potentially the next big thing in the steeple. Really impressive.

Just gotta say... seeing the men's triple jump results... As amazing a story and a journey it has been to get back to fitness after such a bad injury, Christian Taylor is, sadly, done as an elite jumper. Since returning to competitive action, he's yet to jump beyond 17m, and quite frankly, hasn't looked close to doing so in recent outings - let alone trying to continue his quest for Jonathan Edwards' WR.

It's sad to see, but the inevitable I believe has finally come for Taylor.

RU, that might come back to haunt you. Never write off Christian Taylor, even at 33 and a ruptured Achilles tendon.

CAML I'd be with you in sentiment, *if* Taylor had shown some sign that he was jumping better than he was when he initially returned to action a year or so ago. But jumping 16.30 and bits in all of his jumps here, in decent jumping conditions, and having shown that kind of form in the last year or so, just doesn't fill me with any confidence in his ability to return to his old ways.
I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that I'll be proved to be wrong in the long term.

He's jumped further than last year, he'll jump 17m this year. Ever since he changed his take off leg years ago, and then jumped further than before, for me he's a physical freak whose wired differently.

Damn it... Dina Asher Smith is a DNS in the 100m.
