Might as well make a separate thread for such a major meeting.

All performances regardless of nationality, are welcome here.

We've just seen 17 year old Jana Koscak, EU18 heptathlon champ last year, utterly demolish her 100m hurdles PB by 5/10ths of a second, 13.26 (+1.2), and following that heat, GB's Jade O'Dowda came 3rd with 13.70 (-0.4).

KJT.... Had a bit of a mare on that run... Almost fell at hurdle 3 and then clipped hurdle 5, but did well to stay on her feet, unlike Maria Huntington who went down at the 2nd hurdle. Johnson-Thompson finished in a time of 13.88... not what she was looking for, but considering her race, a lot better than it could have been.

How much time do you think was lost? She’ll need to be very strong from here to get the WC qualifying score, which was the main purpose of the weekend

She was in contention before hitting those hurdles. I think she was on course for something in the 13.3/13.4 range, so she lost a lot of time and points as a result. She's now put herself under massive pressure; really, she *has* to jump 1.90m+ in the high jump, something she hasn't done since winning the World Champs in 2019, if she wants to get back on course for that Budapest Q standard of 6480 points.

I might stick my neck out now and predict Hall to handily beat Thiam in Budapest and Paris you know, I thought she was competing too much and risking burnout but she keeps smashing PBs so it’s obviously working for her. 12.75 is incredible. Her 200m will surely be 22.x very shortly, nobody touches her 800m, her long jump is now 6.60+ and her throws aren’t bad at all.

Kat looks like she needs to run a 100h race every weekend between now and August, she hit what looked like almost every hurdle. Whether that’s rust, lack of confidence or trying to force it, I don’t know.

If she can high jump 1.92 she can long jump 6.70 with her natural speed

Are we talking about Hall here treadwater1? She’s jumped 6.70 a couple of times in the last couple of years but they weren’t wind legal. I see no reason why she wouldn’t be able to replicate that soon.

      A terrible performance by KJT.

I do not consider she will achieve the WA. Sacrilege of course on this site!

Jade O'Dowda *just* misses out on equalling her high jump PB of 1.80m, clipping the bar and it wobbled for several moments before falling off in her final attempt.

KJT is having an altogther much better high jump than her 100m hurdles, now clear first time at 1.83m.

Anna Hall is matching her though, with three first time clearances at 1.77m, 1.80m and 1.83m.

Teenage sensation Jana Koscak in group B, has had just 2 jumps, at 1.71m and 1.77m, and cleared them at the first attempt. Last year in the Euro U18's, Koscak cleared a CBP 1.87m, which would have been good enough to medal in the individual high jump contest.

Saga Vanninen, World and European U20 champion, has just cleared a HJ PB 1.80m, also in group B.

Meanwhile in the decathlon long jump, disaster for Simon Ehammer as he records no valid jumps in his 3 attempts

KJT over at 1.86m on the final attempt, Now KJT clears 1.89m at the final attempt!

              Hall over at the 2nd.

Koscak with a new PB of 1.89m! And she improves again to 1.92m!!

It happens in combined events! It’s not just a British curse!

Kat *should* get the qualifying standard with OKish performances in the remaining 5 events (e.g. 13.2m, 23.5sec, 6.30m, 42m, and 2.09 would get her there). Can't afford any slips though.

Would hope for more in the 200 and LJ though

Tbh I was writing Kat’s career obituary in my head after the hurdles, but the high jump showed signs of life. Gritty third time clearances at 1.86 and 1.89, and the height on the 1.89 was good.

She won’t get away with a 12.5m shotput though if she wants the standard.

                  Jana = WOW.

Good PB from LaPage in the 100 but he might be slightly disappointed with his LJ. Warner not quite firing on all cylinders. Could be a close battle between them. Moloney fairly solid for me so far

Moloney with a near 70cm improvement in the shot, taking his PB to 15.20.
