She can add 100 points to that with an on-par high jump. Looks like she was 13 cm below her PB. She's a great talent though. Interestingly, Zoe Gregory and Eden Robinson went 6th and 8th all time, not many points behind, and they both seem to be strong throwers, unlike Thea Brown (and unlike the typical GB heptathlete).

Paige Stevens who has been MIA since that surprise Euro u18 medal last year will be competing in the NCAA as a multi eventer this year, at Duke University. Joining her on that team is pole vaulter Gemma Tutton.

I noticed a good improvement for 1st year u23 Cleo Martin-Evans this summer. She jumped 6.10 as an u17 back in 2019, then not again over 6 until this year. Then in July she jumped close to her best with 6.07 and in August achieved a big new pb of 6.26.

Her hurdles/flat differential is pretty big - they need to spend the winter working on that, but Nick Dakin knows a fair bit about successful hurdlers, so she’s in good hands

I really think she could be something special, with that speed!

While we were engrossed in Budapest action, I noted that Mia McIntosh ran another pb over the flat 100m, 11.52, at Lee Valley on 20 August. I see now that in the same race u17 Nell Desir, whose progress had stalled after shining as an u15, ran a pb 11.73, putting her second in the age group behind Mabel Akande.
