  • 4:00.04 for Katie Snowden in the 1500m in LA, agonisingly close to a major barrier but a World Class run nonetheless.

Brilliant but yeah, perhaps slightly bitter-sweet. Still, can't grumble too much about a 2.7s PB!

Now # 6 UK all-time. Amazingly, we have 12 sub-4:01 women now but 'only' 5 of them sub-4.

Mageean is for me one of the athletes I am most looking forward to seeing this year

59 sub 3:34.2 runners doesn't go into 4 places... (Yes, I am exaggerating just slightly... )

And yes I am, how embarrassing . Only from yesterday though, so not too out of date.

Nice consistancy and good early season form.

That was his season opener right apart from the 45.5 Loughborough relay leg so a SB.

            • It was 5th and 7th positions for Isabelle Boffey and Elle Baker at the Pentecost Sport Meeting Rehlingen, Germany, yesterday in the 800m there. Boffey's quest for that elusive sub 2 minute clocking continues with a 2:01.68 time here, while Baker crossed the line 2:02.41.

              • Roughly an hour ago at the Newham & Essex Beagles Track Open, Imani Lansiquot was in the opening women's 100m race and powered to a time of 11.06 (+1.3), a new PB to go 2nd on the 2023 UK standings this year and up to =4th on the UK all time list, joining Desiree Henry!

The event is being currently livestreamed on YouTube here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyutGH6OZc4 - the race is around 10 minutes into the broadcast (however there is some technical issues meaning there is no sound currently. They are working to fix it.)

thanks for the 'heads-up' on the link... if these times are confirmed that is impressive, as also Aleeya Sibbons seemed to run a big PB [11.33]... in the same race good to see young Nia Wedderburn-Goodison back and Finette Agyapong SB? 11.61 [I wonder what her plans are...]

ps in the next day or two can we please have a seperate thread for June 2023 UK Outdoor Results

              • and I just watched Imani run 11.03... and the announcer seemed sure it was 'wind legal' !

A very impressive pair of runs... it looks very breezy in the trees behind, so I wasn't entirely sure... what is known about Jennifer Eduwu a very tall, powerful looking U20 runs a 11.63 ...

Just seen the race myself... My prediction of Imani going sub-11 this year draws ever closer to reality.

(Also, surely those two times she's run today are track/meeting records?)

              • Just now at the Newham & Essex Beagles Track Open, 23 year old Rio Mitchum cracked the 46 second barrier for the very first time in the 1st of the men's 400m heats. Running confidently in lane 5, the stocky runner pulled away in the closing 70m from a field that contained Lee Thompson and Thomas Somers, and crossed the line in 45.99.

In 2nd place was Thomas Evans, who also entered new territory as the 22 year old ran sub 47 seconds for the first time with 46.71, an improvement of some 5/10ths over his previous PB of 47.19 set last year.

                3rd was Lee Thompson in a 46.73, a substantial season's best.

                • Romell Glave 10.14 at the same meet that Imani set her new PB. Amazing return to form after so much injury disruption the past few years. Do we know if he is now eligible to run for the UK?

Nah, he's officially running for Jamaica these days.

MysteryBrick I didn't know about that!!!

He Hasn't actually run for Jamaica - I remember him doing the Jamaican junior champs a few years ago in an attempt to get into the Jamaican team for the World Juniors but not aware of anything since.

If he is now eligible and wants to of course; it may be worth his while doing the necessary admin

If you go to his World Athletics personal profile page, it shows the country he represents is Jamaica.

I guess this time last year Adele Tracy's World Athletics profile was still showing as GB

I don't claim to know any inside information about a) his eligibility to compete for GB; we know he wasn't eligible back when he was a junior but I don't know if his status has changed in the subsequent years or b) if he wants to run for GB or Jamaica, That's up to him of course.

Regardless; it's good to see him back in PB shape and I wish him well

                  • Under the radar - 2:01.47 from Revee Walcott Nolan in a mixed race in Newham on Monday, second fastest time ever. Suggests she is in shape to significantly better her 4:09 seasons best over 1500m.
