She might not be quite at her best but still won as a favourite should...reckon that will be very satisfying. Well done Laura 👍

Almost a disaster for Warholm there.

Even he's not strong enough to hold on off what I suspect was about 0.2-0.3s off indoor 200m pace.

His official indoor 200m PB is 20.91 from 2017 - so he ran quicker that that today!

Also impress that Watrin, from the land of the Borlees, is now the Belgian 400mi record holder.

Impressive. Got some very tough opposition in her main event outdoors , but...

49.85 would have been considered a remarkable indoor time in any other instance... it still is, but of course, we're talking about the new WIR holder Bol producing this imperious run and time. She'll content herself with a gold and the 6th fastest 400m time ever run by a woman indoors.

Always good when a less athletically strong host nation wins a gold medal.

Italian triumph and another failure for Prescod.

                My my my, Reece Prescod...

Stunning breakout for Ceccarelli, he has a lightning start!

                • Looks like Prescod went to Neita for advice on how to run a final. Deeply disappointing.

                    @MysteryBrick

Prescod clearly stated that his aim this winter season was to win the EIC, he said so himself after winning the UK Indoor title.

Coming in dead last is NOT what he was looking for. And making bold predictions like that which then blow up in your face is going to lead to scrutiny, especially with his recent past to consider.

In that case he has only set himself up for failure, the silly sausage. Needs better advice.

Perhaps he should talk to Richard Kilty, who was making a lot of sense in the studio.

                • Terrible start. Lacklustre pick up phase. Last place finish.

                  What.

                  A.

                  Load.

                  Of.

                  Rubbish.

                  • Interesting to see what Ceccarelli can do outdoors. 6.47 would suggest he should be able to run sub-10 at least.

Good news for the Italian relay squad too.

                  • Ceccarelli ran right up to his form...but oh dear , Prescod was awful.

Funny , last year he was a great talent. This summer at least one decent race when it's not too important t

                      • Prescod is a great talent (4th on the UK all-time list for 100m).
Prescod has also developed a nasty habit of choking and underperforming under pressure.
                        Both things can be true.

It's fair to say he's *always* been talented but inconsistent. Big potential, but potential can only take you so far.

Absolutely, it's why he's so maddening. Because it is clear that he has physical capabilities that basically no Briton since Christie has (and I would say he looks like he could go quicker than Christie), but can't seem to string things together.

Prescod gave up when he missed the break and the gold medal disappeared up the track.
GB Cycling and other sports used Steve Peters to turn round such fragile performers. Presumably UKA use a Psychiatrist but with athletes dispersed all over the world there's possibly no solution?
