Coscaran, Irish NR holder at last week's Birmingham Indoor Tour final, is out as the final heat, featuring new British indoor record holder Neil Gourley, made sure they ran at a much quicker pace. Gourley through easily enough.

Gabby seemed to enjoy telling Jeanette she was pulling the morning shift tomorrow, who didn't look quite as chuffed.

Holly Mills clears 1.74m on her second attempt in the pentathlon HJ to equal her season's best.

And now Mills clears 1.77m at the first attempt! That's an indoor PB for Mills, improving on a mark she set in 2018 as an U20.

Encouraging! She's seemed to plateau a bit over the last year or so.

Comfortable qualification for Katie Snowden in the opening 1500m heat. Around 4:07/4:08.

But for reigning champion and European no.1 Laura Muir, it was anything *but* comfortable. A slow pace for the opening few laps and Muir was almost caught out when the pace suddenly shifted in the closing 300m of racing. Thankfully she managed to get going and made her way to the front to win, but the shaking of the head from Muir after she crossed the line showed what she thought of that run.
Hopefully just a case of blowing out the cobwebs for Laura.

That's 2 Brits through to the final.

And Ellie Baker makes it 3 out of 3.

Laura looked the least impressive of the Brits. Hopefully saving it for the final

Neita, as expected, dominated her heat of the 60m and won in an impressive 7.14.

If it is a slowish race? Guerrero looked good for a fast finish.

Any faint hopes that Mills might have had of getting on the podium, or into the top 5 finishers in the pentathlon, vanished with a poor shot put competition, only managing a "best" of 12.99m, well down on her 13.49m SB.

Conversely, Nafi Thiam is homing in on smashing KJT's CR and even Dobrynska's WR, as she sets a new shot put PB of 15.54m in the final round.

Asha Philip going backwards after 30 metres. If 60m is too far for her now, the lead off leg in Budapest could be a worry.

                                  Problem solved.

There'll be *someone* decent enough to pass to Lansiquot on the back straight, and then the remaining 3 girls (if fit) are basically as good as any team on the World stage.

Indeed... Going through the 2022 rankings for 100m as well as for the 60m this year, if this particular blip in Philip's form turns out to be more than a "blip" this time around, I can see 3 or 4 worthwhile candidates who could slot into that relay spot currently.... Eze, Rees, Allyson Bell, Nia Wedderburn-Goodison, even Kristal Awuah too, if she can get back some of that 2018 mojo.
                              Working...
