PV World Lead, and PB, for Olivia McTaggart 4.71. Eliza McCartney 4.61 (again) and Imogen Ayris 4.51PB. Wind (cross/tail) was a bit gusty, so not ideal conditions.

Other stuff from the Sydney Track Classic ...

        Men's 110H: Rachid Muratake (JPN) 13.25 PB (+0.3) (20yo)
        400: Kerley 44.65
3000: 1 Jude Thomas 7:48.25 (20yo) ... In 5th there was another World Age 16 record for Cameron Myers, 7:52.06, taking down a GDR mark from 1976 !
        4x100: Australia 'A' 38.50

        Women's 100: 2nd was 18yo Torrie Lewis, 11.23 PB
        100H Jenneke 12.70 (+0.6)
        800: Abbey Caldwell 1:58.62 (PB by 0.7s). No-one else broke 2 mins
3000: 1 Jess Hull 8:31.81 (The second AR of the night, and taking 4+ seconds off her own NR) ... 3 Amy Bunnage 8:51.90 (17yo; PB by over 8s). Sadly, Nozomi Tanaka was only pacing Hull after earlier running the 800
        HJ: Olyslagers 1.94

Sadly, it wasn't live on YouTube as usual, only on 7plus TV (VPN needed). So, a step backwards for anyone not in Oz who wants to watch these Aussie meetings but doesn't have a VPN. I imagine they'll do the same for Brisbane in 2 weeks' time although they didn't for Adelaide last month which could be watched live on YouTube.

Also, Aussie results site saying 2.32 for Joel Baden in the HJ though it didn't seem that way on the live stream. He jumped a 2.33 PB at the Victorian Championships last weekend.

At the European Throwing Cup today, there was a GB 1-2 in the women's hammer 'B' final as UK no.1 last year, Charlotte Payne, won narrowly from Katie Head. Payne produced 3 legal throws and all landed beyond the 68m line, with the furthest effort measured at 68.89m. Head was always snapping at Payne's heels though, with 2 efforts over 68m and a 3rd beyond 67m.

For Payne, this represents her best ever seasoning opening throw. In 2022, she managed a best of 66.74m at the UK Winter Long Throws Champs in February, before following that up with a 66.72m, 3rd place finish at the Euro Throws Cup in March. Heading into the spring and summer season, Payne's already looking like she's ready to be one of the main contenders for the medal podium at the European U23s in July, while Head will be aiming to have a better season than last year.

Very pleased to see this. Series also included a 21.92 which was also over his old PB.

At the Barcelona Marathon there was a Moroccan NR in the Men's race (times unofficial) ...

1 Marius Kimutai (BRN) 2:05:06 PB CR
                    2 Othmane El Goumri 2:05:12 NR, taking down Dazza's 2:05:26 from 2018
3 Kaan Kigen Ozbilen (TUR) 2:05:xx

                    1 Zeineba Yimer 2:19:44 CR
2 Selly Chepyego Kaptich 2:20:02 PB
3 Delvine Meringor (ROU; former Kenyan) 2:20:48 PB

In Seoul, the 2020 World Half Marathon bronze medalist Amadework Walalegn won, also around 2:05:06 (unofficial) PB. There was no foreign elite Women's field (except one Chinese). Dae-un Jung won in 2:28:xx (a 4 minute PB) after being on sub-2:25 NR pace beyond 30km.

In Lille this morning, Kejelcha was just 1 second outside Aregawi's 12:49 WR for 5km, after passing through 3km in 7:37 (i.e., 12:42 pace). In 6th Sam Atkin ran a British Record, 13:16.

The Women's race was a photo finish, Caroline Nyaga just edging steepler Mekides Abebe, both 14:35. Luiza Gega was 7th in 15:16.

At the New York Half Marathon, the wind, cold and hills put paid to fast times (though it's never a fast course even in still conditions). Kiplimo, 61:31, beat Cheptegei with ease by 38s. Andy Butchart was 7th. Obiri too was a comfortable winner over Teferi, 67:21 to 67:55. Jess Warner-Judd must have been a DNF after she started to drop behind Grovdal and Diane Van Es.

Sam Atkin’s time was a British record and no 3 all time in Europe. Pity he’s so inconsistent on the big occasions because he’s clearly very talented.

Where are the British Champs this year, Manchester or Birmingham? The published calendar still says TBC. Any intel on this site?

I have no inside knowledge, but everything I can find says that it is still being confirmed, including the ticket page on the BA website.

WR 2:37.44 for Peru’s Kimberly Garcia Leon in the 35km walk in Slovakia. Still a pretty new event of course, so she’s probably on to a nice little earner for the next couple of years.
