Impressive run by World U20 champion Roisin Willis in taking the 800m crown, still an U20 this year, I think she’s one to watch
Some good runs from Amber Anning over the weekend, looks like the change of colleges has done the trick

Not just Amber apparently. All the 4x4 Arkansas athletes from different countries including Nigeria, Jamaica and USA. -
I’m not saying any of the scepticism is unwarranted, but what does it say about the ones who can’t manage even a SB under these conditions?👍 1Leave a comment:

But I think not counted for champs qualification purposes? -
Altitude marks still count....they just have an A listed next to them. Remember all those marks set at Mexico Olympics that lasted for decades, Pietro Mennea still holds the European record also set at Mexico City. Personally I think they should be treated as per wind assisted marks, anything above a certain level gets marked a and is invalid for record/qualifying purposes -
Please remind me - do marks in sprints and horizontal jumps qualify as world etc records or qualifying marks if altitude aided? I have a dim recollection that marks of over 1000m such as here are invalid. -
I just can't with NCAA performaces especially indoors at 5000 feet.
As always i'll wait till these athletes repeat on the international stage before i get excitedLeave a comment:

So many outrageous PBs does suggest that the altitude is having an enormous impact. Which doesn’t matter in the context of the competition itself as they all have the same conditions, but some of these performances are going to be real outliers for athletes as the season goes on I feel.👍 1Leave a comment:

18.29m is a long way further than 17.54m. Let's see him back up outdoors with some 17.30m+ jumps first. -
Another very fine performance came from Julien Alfred doing the sprint double, 6.94 and 22.01 within an hour.Leave a comment:

Jaydon Hibbert sets a new WJ record of 17.54m in the TJ. He only took one jump, and is still a junior in 2024. That's outrageous.Leave a comment:
