Crickey... Josh Kerr at the Millrose Games, New York, in his first *ever* 3000m race indoors (as well as his first race over the distance since he was an U17 athlete back in 2014!), smashes Andrew Butchart's Scottish indoor record with a superb 7:33.47 for the victory! It's a meeting record as well as the fastest time ever run at The Armoury facility.

Such was the outstanding quality of the race that everyone of the 11 runners who finished the race, set personal bests, with 3 of them joining Kerr in setting national records too!

Was rounded up to 7.31 eventually, but still 6th UK all time, now shared with Hannah Brier. Also means Eze is currently 3rd in the world for U20's indoors this year.

Mehitabelle Angelo rounded out the podium, crossing the line in 7.46, lowering her PB in consecutive rounds.

Make that 7.39, equalling Joy Eze's run in the previous semi-final... That puts Renee Regis up to joint 15th on the UK's U20 all time list.

Some impressive performances from the English Athletics U20/U17/U15 Indoor Championships this morning, with Joy Eze and Renee Regis being the fastest qualifiers in the U20 women's 60m heats. Eze ran 7.47 and Regis' 7.50 well ahead of the next fastest, Emmanuel Quaye, Mehitabelle Angelo and Ella-Grace Edwards (a PB) with 7.63.

In the men's U20 60m, Sean Anyaogu, who turned 19 in January, set a new PB of 6.83 to lead all qualifiers, though the current world no.2 U20, Medwin Odamtten, pretty much sauntered to 6.97 and an easy heat win. Expect much quicker from him in the semi-finals. Also impressing was sprint hurdler Noah Hanson who ended up 3rd quickest overall in a 6.91 PB, which bodes well for his main event that starts tomorrow afternoon.

Sarah Inglis has had a really interesting past few years. It looked like she was going to be a marathoner with a decent 2.29.37 clocking, but her performances on the track after that have blossomed. She really attacked the Commonwealth Games last year and I remember thinking there was much more to come there if she had another year at the shorter distances.

There are spaces on the team in the 5k and 10k with McColgan moving up to the marathon.

Ian Hodge reports that Sarah Inglis ran 14:59.65 at the Boston University indoor track last night... She becomes just the 2nd British woman ever to go sub-15 minutes indoors, behind Laura Muir. Impressive stuff!

All speculation of course, but maybe being trusted in the WC relay team encouraged him to knuckle down and realise that he can win a few medals if he ever fully delivers on his talent...

If Prescod is fully switched on and translates this into what he should run outdoors, Linford's British Record could go. That is quite a few ifs though...
Working...
