Im looking forward to see what BA do in regards to the mens relay, the women have already qualified for Worlds, the team champs in june(?) only have a mixed relay (which also hasnt yet qualified for worlds). And now without world relays, options are limited

The mens long relay, do currently qualify on place/time but thats risky indeed to leave as is and with no wider funded athletes (currently) how much support does BA give to the group to help develop them, give them racing opportunities etc

Given 8 teams will qualify on time; their sub 3 minute clocking from the Europeans should easily be enough.

We should be getting the futures funding announcement shortly so hopefully at least a couple more mens 400 runners will be funded via that route.

Can't imagine too many teams will run 2:59 or better outside of a major, which they are trying to qualify for...!

Futures isn't financial funding. It will cover some medical expenses, and it's clearly great for the athletes confidence, but it won't feed them. Some medal-winning athletes who both are and aren't on Futures cannot afford to be full-time athletes, which I don't see as a bad thing! This is what Futures athletes are offered:

Through a series of camps, experiences and dedicated Futures Programme staff, the Programme provides opportunities for athletes to develop the skills and abilities required for international success and forms part of the pathway towards the World Class Programme (WCP).
