Spear off to a good start. 86m for Nadeem and Yego rolling back the years with 85m. I reckon Peters might go really long.

Well done, Eilish. Couldn't have done any better.

Sarah Inglis gave it a realy good go. Shame she couldn't have hung on for a sub-15 clocking.

The Aussies have really gone off the boil. Izzi Batt-Doyle in 8th wasn't a bad run but Rose Davies & Nat Rule were down in 17th & 18th. They're much better than that.

LOL. It didn't age too well, did it?

Only one legal jump for Lorraine in the entire competition, and 6.60 not enough.

Jaz finished 4th. A very good competition for her though.

In interview he said he feared no one. Is he going to be a nother Britsh 800m runner whose tactics are to stay at the back and run on the inside even when the pace is slow and think he will beat everyones last 100m. He could have been much closer to Bol and kinyamal in a very slow race with 55 fiirst lap, if he had run an intelligent race. Clearly he was not there but one has hopes that he will learn as he gets older.

I very much doubt it - it’s not his usual MO. He is quicker than most over 400m, so his best bet is to charge at the end, but he will learn from today and do better.

I admire jaz a lot. She is a really big champs performer and clearly works her butt off.
well done to Amy Eloise, all time top ten now, and of course eilish for double medal

His lack of top class races may well hinder him, but let’s see.
Ben’s positioning let him down as he could have won that, and he knows it. He’s hungry for success, and will learn - 20 year old not being satisfied with a minor medal at their first major champs - remind you of anyone else? He now needs to get into some fast races and learn on the circuit - it will come. He has speed to burn and could make a claim for the 4x400m pool - but more speed is even better at world level.

Knowing Jamie, he’ll be gutted and frustrated, but not sure he could do much more, especially as he only got drafted in the week before!
