Another great race, and wonderful run from Sada Williams, a Games record 49.90, Victoria Ohuruogu with huge PB of 50.72 for silver and Jodie Williams, off so little racing and only back since early July really, with a big season's best of 51.26 for a great bronze medal. 4th for a hard charging Ama Pipi in 51.36, though she might regret not committing to it a bit earlier on in the race, because she was closing on Jodie with every stride and had the race been a 410m one, she would have overtaken her English team mate.

    Another high quality race.

The field for the Men's 10,000m Walk is a bit bigger than the women's was and a much more open affair.

Callum "Wilko" Wilkinson might be able to get in the medals but most of the others have medal chances too. No chance for Tom "Bozzy" Bosworth though. His best days behind him, he's retiring after Munich.

        It's a fast start, around 38:30 pace through 2km.

Ben Williams in the TJ having a shocker. Essentially stopped in his first round at just over 16m, three fouls since then

Wilkinson might be starting to get dropped from the leading group now.

Fantastic 400m races, particularly the women's. Thrilled for VO to get 50.72 and show such great level headedness in the race. Can't help noticing she always looks so calm and recovers pretty fast, no out of breath interviews! Testament to her great fitness. Huge Chrissy O fan so iit's great getting to see her sister enjoy some success. Lloyd would have been so proud.

Over the moon for Jodie too. Showed the strength and fight that enabled her to get a European indoors medal and run sub 50 twice in Tokyo. Didn't see that happening so I am over the moon for her. Home crowd surely helped.

Great chances for our 4 x 400. Who is running 4th leg? Laviai? I hope Jesie isn't. Really like her but she ain't in great form it would seem. Hope they recover well by tonight!

Ben Willilams. One valid jump out of six of 16.03m, for 8th place.

However, I've just seen his 6th round effort and it was a marginal foul that sailed over 17.30m.

Just the 1-2 for India. A bronze for Bermuda.

Not good. Needs to get it sorted before Europeans!

I've since amended my comment because I just saw Williams' final effort. It was a very marginal foul that saw him land somewhere between 17.30m and 17.50m. Williams has the ability, but he's been too inconsistent with his run up for awhile now. And also all those injuries haven't helped.
If he can get that run up adjusted slightly, he could be in with a shout of a medal in Munich.

Ah what could have been for Ben Williams! He won’t get that chance again in front of a home crowd at the Commonwealth Games… He’s very talented and I really he hope he can hold it together for a few more seasons and get some results that match his talent.

As in Doha, Barber comes from behind to win in the 6th round. And a rare World/Commonwealth double this year

Barber was a cut above in Eugene but it was a close shave for her here!

I’m now really starting to think what might Vicky O achieve in the next few years. I don’t see that 50.72 being the peak at all. She’s just improving every aspect of her race and improved beautifully between the heat, semi and final here in exactly the same way that big sister used to.

will the euros come too early for individual medals? Bol and the Poles will probably be a bit too quick but I trust Vicky O to run the rounds really smartly

I think Vicky will run another PB in Munich, if she goes out a little harder. Sub 50.50 is there, for sure

Williams going for all or nothing is admirable, but only until you get to the fifth round…at that point, get a minor medal at least FFS!
