Agreed. I think she was so used to winning by just jumping higher, she hasn’t driven home the discipline of first time clearances. Hopefully having domestic comp that can match heights will force her to rectify

      Drat. If she’d cleared 1.81 first time she’d have a joint bronze…

Organizers fortunate that the HJ ended just before the SC started.

Said it before, but they must be kicking themselves seeing the new Eugene layout.

Brilliant race from India's Sable to take silver and almost win.

Is India the sleeping giant of World Athletics?

Come on Nick Miller, don’t dribble this away in no throws, please.

I was just admiring the hairstyle of Morgan Lake and Laura Zialor, and it seems that the Canadian hammer thrower, Rowan Hamilton, shares the same hairdresser [though I wouldnt say that to his face hahaha]

That looks like Nigeria’s best team. JAM-ENG-NIG for the medals, most likely, but without SAFP and SJ, it will be close

Just catching up now after taking in the shopping delivery. I couldn't believe my ears pre-race with Cotter totally under-rating Avinash Sable, saying a Kenyan 1-2-3 was guaranteed.

NR for Sable taking 1.3s off his own record.

Seddon and Hopkins NOT inspired by the recent exploits of Aimee & Lizzie.

I mean, in fairness, by SBs they were all at least 3 seconds quicker than he had ever run, let alone PBs for the likes of Kipruto.

So, whilst it wasn't a crazy shock, it was a shock with a small s. Fair play to Sable though.

No, I think it was poor to write-off an improving athlete with an 8:12 PB in a Commonwealth final. It might have been a different result in a DL race but it was a championship race.

Shame for Lake. Losing on countback is never fun, but losing on countback to a height 11cm below seems very not fun. still, them's the rules.

She knows the rules - she needs to be disciplined. This is far from the first time, if memory serves correctly, that count back has been an issue for her

The "live feed" seems to have disappeared today with Katherine, Tim etc?

Yes,that has confused me too! BBC isn't showing athletics on its main channels but we have interviews.

                    Great race in the 1500!

Cheruiyot looking like he might get a bit of redemption but pipped on the line by Ollie Hoare, running a 2s PB.

Tons of great PBs down the field but Josh "3:27 shape" Kerr was dead last.
