All sorts of athletes come out of the woodwork in track and field; after all, who heard of Mu in 2019/ 2020 as a great 800m runner, and Moraa was unheard of in any significant wayuntil this year There may well be a couple of athletes largely unknown by the time we get to Paris24.

Hughes seemed very pleased with his medal. But I’m always surprised that he’s never had a legal sub 20. His 20.02 PB dates back to 2015 when he was 19/20 and must be due some serious revision.

I thought Keely ran that pretty well all things considered, she did the right thing in not chasing after Moraa at that ridiculous pace, her splits were fairly even again she just ran out of gas in the home straight. Moraa’s raw talent impressed me, she’s got as much 400 speed as Mu, if she can run more consistently I think she’ll be in the 1:55s before long. I’d like to see Keely run more 400s

A tough schedule for ETH after Eugene, I’m slightly bemused that she ran 22.0 tonight but could only manage 22.39 a few weeks ago for 7th, she’s cold as ice but perhaps the occasion got to her that night

Her performance today was down on what KH is capable of, 1. 55s. I believe that her silver in Eugene was perhaps more tough for her than we imagine.
However her career has just began, so its impossible to say how she will fare. As for her sprinting speed, and change of pace, she is very good but MU is outstanding and Moraa will surprise again in the next couple of years.

Moraa is a mid 50s 400m runner and Mu is a high 49s.KH has two tough opponents likely for next year and Paris 24

Scott has said that his biggest target this summer is the European 10000 so presumably viewed the 5000 here as preparation.

Moraa - some people have suggested she might be DSD, but the Kenyans have dropped a fair number of athletes over the last few years for DSD, so one assumes Kenyan testing is happening, and she’s been around for a few years. (Tangent: Hima Das was “asked by the Indian authorities to work on her speed, hence the WJ Champion dropping to the 200m” - so possibly another for the list.
its nearly always the change of space and not just the speed. Korir has a habit of showing that, as well as waiting till the exactly right time which is tough.

13.20 approx. for a guy who possess a sub 13 and was a bronze medallist in the world indoors 3 k.
Medals are great but so are performance levels. Not here though.

This is true. A shame, as Euros is going to be a lot more competitive than here! At least he got a medal…

Possibly, but he's always been a bit inconsistent.

She may well lose out all round…

4x1 - Bianca is back and Ashleigh is running well. If Amy is injury-free, with several juniors coming through, no space there

4x4 - Jodie, Vicky, Laviai, Nicole, Lina, Ama, Jessie, Zoey, Emily (if she’s back) - with people like YMJ coming through

    It’s tough!

He didn’t have it on the jumps where he was closest. I wonder if the situation with Emily B has had an effect on training, as he hasn’t built on last year, really

It's tricky. I'm not sure I can see her getting medals at either distance individually, but she may be more use to the UK as a 400 runner so she can contribute to relays.

She’s running the 4x4 for Scotland tomorrow…if she runs well there, I expect she’ll move up over the winter…although she has more chance of making teams over 200m just now, I suspect other ladies will step up very soon
