Laura Zialor over 1.85 at the second try and looks very happy.

Andrew Cotter doing a crappy job of explaining the Race Walking ... talking about "warnings" - being unclear whether he means yellow paddles or red cards.

Morgan really rattled that bar, but at least she got over.

The race walk field was always going to be dispersed around the track, leaving a very small window of opportunity for a jumper to focus, if, as in the case of Morgan Lake, your run-up spills onto the lanes. It's not going to help her cause...

Isn’t Borthwick only about 5’7? If so, she’s always going to have a ceiling against 6’+ women. I’d like to see her try the TJ - just have a bit of fun with it and see how it goes.

and just for completeness for the HJ trying out TJ theme, according to Po10 Laura Zialor had a few attempts at triple jump in her youth...

Another tight second time clearance for Morgan at 1.85. Laura will need to try a third time.

Lake 1.89 first time is much better…but those early failures will be costly

Laura out. But with a PB of 1.91 it was always going to be a challenge.

Surprising struggle for Patterson at 1.92.

Same for Kimberly Williamson and Lamara Distin.

In fact no one manages it first time.

Morgan maintains her record of second time clearances at every height. Three other women over as well, and with better records earlier on, so she's going to have to get higher to get a medal.

Distin takes the lead as the first over 1.95.

Kwarteng out. I fear those early failures will count against lake and she will finish 4th - a shame for her missing a medal but a credible performance

Everyone else on the last chance saloon. The next few minutes could determine the medals.

Patterson out, but could still get silver.
