And thanks to Wightman, four can go to Budapest next year.

That's the first time 26 year old Joe Ellis has thrown 70m outside the US. I was ready to give him pelters if he hadn't, so that shut me up.

Sam Tanner movers to number 2 on NZ all-time list behind Nick Willis and ahead of John Walker. Some fairly good company.

Yes it is just faster than Kerr. Not bad for an athlete whose best before 2020 was 3:50!

In 2 years he's gone from not being fast enough to run for the UK in an under 20s champs to possibly being too good to bother with the Euro under 23s!

3.32.50 for Matt Stonier - Is that a British U23 best? Wasn't it Kerr at 3.33 before? Matt turns 21 next month so will still be an U23 next year.

Earlier this year I said this guy excites me if he has the confidence to go with a faster pace, but I didn't expect 3.32 already. A name to watch for British Athletics.

Fab Welsh record for Jake Heyward, starting to fulfil the promise he showed as a youngster.

Props to Elliot Giles too - He said 'give me 5 weeks and I'll be back to my best' after trials and he meant it.

British 1500m is in rude health.

That's 6 GB guys under 3.34 this year, and 7 of the all-time top 17 are current athletes (although Grice possibly past his best).

Joe Ellis pushed out of the medals by that big effort from the Cypriot. Nick Miller is Commonwealth champion.

PBs for Hoare, Heyward, Tanner, Stonier, Gourley, Giles, Paulson and Mphahlele. SBs for Cheruiyot and Kipsang.

Jake and Josh the only 2 who didn't set some kind of mark!
One for the memory and great delight all round. Jake went just too early. Well done Stonier.

Jake so tired he's having to sit down to do autographs.

Great PBs by the likes of Heyward (Welsh record?) and Tanner.

Bit of a surprise there. Hoare pips Cheruiyot, Wightman tired and gets bronze.

    Great race in the 1500!

Cheruiyot looking like he might get a bit of redemption but pipped on the line by Ollie Hoare, running a 2s PB.

Tons of great PBs down the field but Josh "3:27 shape" Kerr was dead last.
