Huge morning crowds again, great to see. And so many kids & teenagers.

And another thing - this has been a real traditionally-scheduled athletics meet. Heats in the mornings, finals in the evening. So different from everything we’ve seen recently.

Changes at the weekend - there are some finals on Saturday & Sunday Morning.

Anna Purchase 66.45 in first round. Probably enough to qualify.

Camryn Rogers 74.68 GR in round 1. No surprise there.

No English women in the 200 heats, that’s very disappointing for a home games

Beth Dobbin qs in 4th….would be optimistic to hope for a medal but competition is not stellar.

A bit surprising , no ? Down to Neita's late withdrawal and the wretched quotas , I suppose ? But disappointing ; especially as the event looks to be pretty open.

I think Lansiquot was originally named in the squad for the 200, but must have withdrawn. Ashleigh Nelson was drafted in for Dina but not included in an individual event

Very disappointing. Would have made sense to just get a safety throw in given the standard of the field.

The women's 200m looks as if it is between ETH, Ofili, Bass and Mboma. A number of participants in last evening's 100m scratched including Alfred. I think any athletes who start a race and who jog round should be disqualified from the rest of a Games or Championships for 'not trying' - it's an insult to the fans who have paid good money to attend. Nwokocha of Nigeria is the culprit in the 200m.

And to some athlete who couldn’t qualify.

And while we are at it: one competition bans for lapped athletes who don’t run in lane 2

There is the honest effort rule. Moraa jogged her 400 heat yesterday, blatant. She could have easily been DQ'd although I do want to see her in the 800 final and other countries would no doubt point fingers and call it a home town decision if she were.

What is the plan, English Athletics, for converting Kristal Awuah's great potential and talent into great achievement? Is she not fit?

All the home nation athletes; Heyward, Kerr and Giles, all make it through comfortably into the final of the 1500m in the first heat (semi final really), along with Ollie Hoare and Timothy Cheriyot.

Lake, Zialor and Borthwick all over 1.81 at first attempt. That should be enough to qualify.
