If someone had told me in 2018/19 a European would win the 100m in Tokyo, I would have put more than a few quid on Prescod. His demise is a tough watch.

I think Prescod got a bad start and didn’t really hit top bear after that. He ran 4/10ths quicker just a week or so ago so he is clearly in better shape than that.

Think we need to ignore the times today - Chilly, breezy, and perhaps not the fastest track - Very good run from Dina to beat Jackson, and exceptional from Daryll to leave the flashy (on paper) Americans far behind.

Couldn't agree more. It's a great pity that she didn't fulfil her early promise, so she deserves a lot of admiration for sticking with the sport after so many disappointments and setbacks. She clearly loves her athletics, and I love seeing her happy and competing.

Matt Stonier with an eye-catching run there - Looks like he covered the final lap as fast as anybody else, despite having to come through half the field. Still a huge PB, but plenty more to come with more confident positioning later this year.

No surprises in the top 7 in the W 5000 going sub-15 or 15-low but in 8th place, a huge run for 23yo Carla Gallardo (ESP) with 15:10.62 on her DL debut. So close to the Eugene standard but great world ranking points here. That's the 2nd time she's really surprised me this year. She won the Spanish XC Champs beating several more accomplished runners who'd been beating her in the rest of the XC season. Cristina Ruiz was 2nd at those Spanish XC Champs (& 7th in the Euro U23 XC in Dublin), but beat Gallardo in their other 4 XC races this season - she ran a 15:34 PB today also on her DL debut.

Twice on the world feed Chris Dennis said, "Vernon Norwood, the man with the big smile." Is Norwood famed for his beaming features?? I wasn't aware of this!

DAS, MHS and Laura Muir did enough to win. Great scalp forAzu in the B race getting the scalp of the winner of the A race. Good performance from Lorraine Ugen too.

Prescod was dire.

Just got back from shopping and saw Hodgkinson's race now.

The only person who has anything on Keely right now is Mu, she is that dominant over all the other 800m runners she faces at the moment. It was such a shame that she picked up that niggle just before the WIC heats, because she was the gold medal winner right there with Mu not in attendance.

A 1:58.63 while casually strolling away from classy sub 1:58 and 1:57 athletes like Lamote and Goule? That's the mark of a scarily good middle distancer.
