Out of absolutely nowhere, Reece Prescod 9.93 PB in Ostava! Beats a decent field from lane 8.
Zharnel 10.05 SBComment

Well, that couldn't have been a better "EFF U!" race than could have been delivered there to his critics from Prescod!👍 1Comment

Adele Tracey 4:02:55 PB in the 1500m. OK, early days for her in the event.
Max Burgin impressive & confident run at 1:44.54 SB just couldn’t hold off a couple of outside smokers at the line though.Last edited by Grassmarket; 31-05-22, 17:13.Comment

Burgin turned up and almost won! He went with the pacemaker and covered the first 400m in 49-ish seconds! And he almost hung on to, but was eventually passed by Wanyonyi and Moula with about 50m to go. It needed a 1:44.15 SB and a 1:44.19 PB for the the Kenyan and Algerian respectively, to beat Burgin, who ran 1:44.54 SB for third place.Comment

Prescod and outside lanes hey. Into a 1.2m wind as well. The last time I saw Prescod do his thing outdoors was August 2018 when competing against the top Americans in Birmingham. I don't know what to make of it tbh. I bet he still won't get in the relay team.Comment

I hold my hands up - I thought Prescod was cooked and was very negative about him after Brum, but that level of talent doesn't just disappear. Apparently he cramped pushing from his blocks in Brum, explains a lot. NMB 10.10 (0.1) to win the B race. The boys really are back in town!👍 1Comment

Following his 10.05 (-1.2m/s) SB and World Champ qualifier in the 100m, Zharnel Hughes runs 20.29 (-0.2m/s) for 3rd place behind Jerome Blake (CAN, 20.14) and Elijah Hall (USA, 20.14) for another season's best and a European Champs qualifying effort. A not too shabby day's work for Hughes methinks.👍 1Comment

BTW, that 9.93 from Reece Prescod is one of the fastest times ever run into a headwind that is -1.0 or stronger. The others who went faster on that list are Usain Bolt (surprising nobody and is the only one to do so multiple times, with 3 sub 10 second runs into -1.0 and stronger winds) Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake and Michael Rodgers (who all did it once).👍 2Comment

It was just a day or two ago I was saying I had no faith in Reece and no expectations for Max Burgin. Those comments aged well
Although I did LOL when Reece said in hi s interview how hard he's been working for the past two years. Maybe more recently, but we all know the Cakegate saga...
Adelle Tracey got the WCs standard with her 4.02.55, and it's also a UK lead ahead of Muir.

On Adelle Tracey, I have to commend her on making the decision to move up to the 1500m, and to how well she is taking to it currently. Before 2019, her 1500m PB was outside 4:10. Since then, she's taken 9 seconds out of it in the last 3 years and has been taking huge chunks of time off her PB this year, seemingly with every race.
Could she go sub 4 minutes this year at this rate?Last edited by RunUnlimited; 31-05-22, 19:27.

some cracking runs there, amazing from prescod, world champs gold medallist , you heard it here first, burgin looks like a man now, not a skinny teenager, , hughes also looked decent in both events and a good run from tracey too to set a new pb, didnt see nmb but thats also good for this point in the season

Just noticed in the results section there was a 4x100 for the men won by GB&NI in 38.43. The team in leg order was Jeremiah Azu, Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty & Nethaneel Mitchel-Blake. A seasons best but would need to be much quicker come the worlds.👍 1Comment
