Kat over 1.77 first time of asking at Gotzis - she must feel confident about her HJ as she had the highest opening height of anyone in the comp.

(BTW, the contrast in quality between the best of British decathletes and those currently competing in Gotzis is pretty starkly shown in the distances being achieved in the long jump... Barely breaking 7m in Bedford, while you got folks flying over 8m, peppering the 8m distance, or at least getting into the 7.30's and beyond. )Last edited by RunUnlimited; 28-05-22, 12:44.

Accidentally osted in wrong thread:
Via Ian Hodge: 54.09 pb for Jessie Knight, (he says equal third UK all time but actually equal 4th), and 55.48 pb and Euro/Commonwealth qual for Hayley McLean.

Oh, I thought it was 59ish. Must have misread something.

When Bekah Walton surprisingly made the final of the Euro U23s last year, as well as performing admirably against much better opponents in the Euro Team Champs too, I had a feeling that this woman might have a chance at being possibly the first British woman to breach the 60m barrier since the great Goldie Sayers, and indeed, this distance from Walton is the longest achieved by a GB javelin athlete since Goldie Sawyers threw 58.79m in 2016, the year that she retired.

24.02, another pb for Abigail Pawlett to cement her lead in the u20 heptathlon. Faster than the winner in the senior hep at Bedford, all but five women at Gotzis.Last edited by Occasional Hope; 28-05-22, 18:00.

Then 2nd in the 200 just ahead of Seren means she ends day 1 on top.Last edited by Occasional Hope; 28-05-22, 18:05.

In the men’s I’ve picked up that Whiteaker threw 74.86 a few days ago. That’s now 4 men over 74 this season, not stellar but 3 more than last year and the year before that and the year before that and 2 more than the year before that. I’ll take it as progress of sorts.
