A couple of good scalps for Ben Pattison winning the 1000 in Poznan, beating Romzys & Tuwei (who did "a Dustin" on the home straight & finished last). Not a fast time though - 2:19.27.

Ellie Baker is a no-show for the 800.

Ben Jefferies, a Bristol lad virtually unknown over here due to having last competed in this country as an U13 back in 2011(!), came close to his recent 46.00 400m PB with a 46.02 run in the USA yesterday, according to Ian Hodge.

There will be a British triple jump representative in the NCAA Division I Championships in June, as Daniel Falode, 5th in last year's European U20s, secured the 12th and final qualification spot with a 3rd and final round 15.73m (+0.2m/s) season's best over in the NCCA East Preliminaries. That is the second best ever outdoor distance the 19 year old Harvard University freshman has achieved (his overall PB was an indoor 15.90m in Feb 2020, just before the first Covid lockdown) and it places him 5th this year among European U23s so far.

Also competing in Bloomington was another 19 year old Brit, this time Bera Ajala, representing Michigan (who like Falode competed in the Euro U20s triple jump in 2021, but went out in the qualification round), who managed a best of 15.32m (+0.3m/s) for 27th place.

One more British triple jumper competed last night, though this time in the NCAA West Preliminaries, and that was 22 year old Aidan Quinn. The New Mexico University student, who has an outdoor PB of 15.58m set just a couple of weeks ago, managed a best effort of 15.30m (+0.5m/s) for 27th place.

Holly Mills clocks 13.41 (-0.7m/s) SB and KJT ran 13.80 in the 100m hurdles in the opening event at Gotzis.

If anybody has the Roster app, could they update us with the other results from Bedford? (What a dumb state of affairs btw. Having the live results *only* available on a phone app, rather than also having a web browser version just smacks of lack of forward thinking on behalf of England Athletics)

In the U20 competition, Abigail Pawlett wins the hurdles in 13.70. A good start for Pawlett, who is looking to retain her national title and to secure her place to the World U20's in Cali.

She looked good in that race, but Chisom Nwafor was impressive too in how she came back after nearly climbing the first hurdle and clearly showing she has a lot to learn still about the discipline. However, her basic speed and power was very apparent.
