I though Knight ran that well, 51.x from Lane 1 indoors is good going.

Tell me about it... good first throw from Sophie McKinna, 18.40m

Big Greek contingent in the crowd for Tentoglou. He went first, had a huge jump (8:30-ish) but it was given as a foul. The replay showed that maybe it should have been valid. Cue booing from the crowd!

Also the interesting paradox of the indoor 400m. The better the competition, the more the pressure to get out fast and then often the slower the times.

Oh wow! Tentoglou putting the competition to bed, I think, with 8.55 in the 2nd round.

The Shot Put has come alive in the 5th round ... Chase Ealey threw 20.21 WL then Dongmo bettered it with 20,43 WL. Schilder currently 3rd with 19.46.

Good from Mills but very impressive from Vidts. She just missed out on bronze in Tokyo so watch out in Oregon.

4929 must be right up there on the A-T list? Isn't Kat's WR 5013 ?

Dobrynska WR is indeed 5013. KJT is 2nd on 5000.

                Yep!

Sovietvest says Rob Walker has too much of the Alan Partridge about him. I can see what he means but I enjoy Walker's enthusiasm and knowledge.

Well, back from my shopping trip to find out that KJT decided to not race the pentathlon 800m due to a sub-par 6.08m in the long jump (after a long foul jump that was near the 6.70's), Holly Mills confirmed her place as yet another hugely talented multi-eventer from these shores and narrowly missing out on a bronze by just 7 points after an epic 800m run that lopped 7 seconds off her previous PB. Noor Vidts is a real threat.... as is Sulek with her fourth straight pentathlon national record to claim silver behind the Belgian.

KJT was rusty as heck.... She is fully fit, didn't pick up any niggles, and was one narrow foul jump away from getting right in the medal hunt. She'll be fine come the summer. The heptathlon is going to be one of the hottest events this year, when you add in Thiam to the mix.

I predict Mills is on course for a 6500+ point total later this year.

MysteryBrick I'll be down with that contest! Not forgetting that Niamh Emerson is still around and yet to show herself this year.....

Great silver medal in a tough field for Elle Purrier St Pierre. Lemlem Hailu, probably the third string Ethiopian coming in, takes the Gold!

Tentoglou is turning into one of the most consistent long jumpers of recent years, as one of the most talented.... 8.55m takes him to 6th place on the world all time list, and 3rd on the European all time list. It's also the longest jump seen in a World Indoors since Ivan Pedroso had to jump the then second longest indoor long jump to defeat Yago Lamela, 8.62m to 8.49m, at the 1999 edition in Maebashi.

                  Kambundji has done it! 6.96!

The eternal podium or off the podium runner, produces the 60m of her life to grab the gold medal from lane 8, and go to =4th on the world all time list!

Brisco gets the silver and becomes the 11th woman in history to go sub 7 seconds, and team mate Sant-Price edges the bronze. Favourite Swoboda gets nothing in 4th!
