It may not be a World Record event but Bol's 36.86 300mH was quite some run with a couple of dodgy hurdles too. I suspect it will be noted by a certain American or two.

According to BBC Weather, it's 22C with a gentle breeze in Ostrava right now. Certainly a lot better than it has been in the UK the last few days.

There's been shed loads of PBs in the 100s and 1500s on the pre-programme at Ostrava. Conditions are obviously good for fast running!

Aha, he's on the startlist in Ostrava tomorrow. But just listed as Yupun Abeykoon so it looks like Jen has been spared the challenge of saying "Mudiyanselage" !

    Indian spear-chucking continues to rise!

Last week at the Indian Grand Prix meeting in Bhubaneswar, 20yo Yashvir Singh threw 82.13 to become the 12th Indian to throw over 80m.

In 2022 alone there's been 3 new members of the Indian 80m club. One of those, Rohit Yadav (also 20), threw 80.88 at this meeting.

"Road to Munich" tool showing status of 2022 European Championships qualification

Maybe quite a few of you already know about this? But, I vaguely remember reading about it then I forgot it existed!

Anyway, it's very useful and the format is a carbon copy of the World Athletics Road to Eugene tool so will be familiar to anyone who's perused that.

we do not know how her elbow is holding up for the javelin, which is a big score for her.Well done to Vetter and lets hope its a quality competition , now that the WL is a bit respectable.

Looking at her World Athletics profile, she.ran 24.37 for 200m in Oordegem yesterday and a 13.54 last week for the hurdles. So certainly seems in decent form in the speed events. Not competed in any throws or.jumps.

Last year she.said she wouldn't do a Heptathlon before the Olympics as she tended to score lower in her 2nd Hep. Given that worked I suspect she will be doing the same this year.

    Vetter is in great shape.

Does anyone know what sort of shape Thiam is in?

New Dutch record for Anouk Vetter winning Gotzis. I would have a few quid on her being on the podium again in Eugene. Decent performance from Sulek, especially 1st day but fell back a bit on day 2.

Oosterwegel a bit off the pace except for the javelin, some work to do for her if she is to repeat her Tokyo medal winning performance.

The Belgian Women watching at home don't have too much to fear other than Vetter by the looks of things.

I note that Anna Hall competed in the 400H and qualified comfortably for National Champs in that event. I wonder if she plans to do that rather than the Heptathlon? It would leave her body a little fresher ahead of worlds if so.

Stunning stuff from Anouk Vetter in the javelin at Gotzis just now.... 59.81m! Taking meeting record from none other than Nafi Thiam's monster throw 2017!
