Good HJ comp going on at the Filothei Women Gala near Athens.

Angelina Topic has jumped 1.95 (a 4cm PB)! She's still only 16 (turns 17 next month). Of course, she has the HJ'ing genes!
Eleftheria Christogeorgou (GRE), 1.93 (a 6cm PB!) & Marija Vukovic 1.93 - both also on their 1.95 attempts.

Then the TV broadcast finished and there doesn't seem to be any live results!

Angelina Topic finished with 1.95, as did Vukovic who equalled her PB & NR.

That's a Serbian NR for Topic and she also equals the age 16 world record (which was set indoors). She's now joint 5th with Mahooch on the World all-time U18 list. The U18 WR is 1cm higher, shared by 4 athletes including Patterson & Cunningham.

Lots to unpack from Ostrava but i thought Girma was fantastic, that time puts him 12th all time, with only El Bakkali slightly ahead of him of those that ar currently active at 21 years of age.

I’d barely heard of Wanyonyi and never heard of Moula but they were both impressive. The Algerian was 7th and 8 metres down with 100 to go

I think it was just a question of having sufficient data. There were 3 highly dominant DSD athletes in the 800 - for 2-3 years nearly always finishing 1-2-3 in DL meetings and in the top 4 of global championships. I think for WA to make their case at CAS for the 200 to be included in the regulations, it might need Mboma, Seyni and Masilingi to consistently be 3 of the top 4 or 5 in the 200.

It's not just about specific events and it never was. It was incredibly shortsighted not to understand that higher levels of testosterone are advantageous across *every* event. They focussed on Caster Semenya to take her out. It is bizarre that the field events have not been studied. I saw footage of Caster messing around with the long jump. Looked as if with training she would easily reach 8 metres. Meanwhile former 800m runner Francine NIYONSABA is dominating the 3k - 14 seconds ahead of Faith Kipyegon.

Who decided testosterone had a cut-off point and did not impact across all events?

Prescod had one of his better starts and was very much in the race from the midway point. I think only Hutchings agent or Mum would say Tim wasn't at fault.

Interesting commentary from Hutchings in the men's 100m. The first time he mentions Prescod's name is when he's 10m over the finish line. Jenny may get the names wrong, but at least she knows they're in the race.

I think that was because Hutchings (much like everyone else) wasn't expecting Prescod to charge through like he did in the latter stages of the race, especially considering his distinct lack of form leading into this race.

Yes, I was surprised nobody mentioned that in the commentary. It was always ridiculous that intersex (DSD) athletes were only seen as having an advantage in the limited range of Women's 400m-mile, not any other event.

Some very good British performances in Ostrava covered on the other thread. From an international perspective ...

The performance of the meeting was undoubtedly Femke Bol ! She adopted the Warholm tactic for the first time I think - go out hard and finish fast! That was phenomenal ! I'm calling it now, Femke Bol will win the world title this year running a 51.0 WR and leaving McLaughlin & Muhammad trailing in her wake!

The men's performance of the meeting was definitely Lamecha Girma's 7:58.68 in the Steeple, the first sub-8 since El Bakkali's in 2018. For a few years I've thought there's room for the WR to come down to 7:50 and now there's 3 guys with the necessary flat speed for that - Girma, El B (3:32-flat) and, if he can get his s**t together, Getnet Wale.

What a deep Women's 1500 that was - 13 women ran sub-4:05 ! Winner Diribe Welteji (2018 World U20 champ at 800) is putting herself in the frame for a World Champs spot but it's a very tricky team to make - Tsegay, Freweyni Hailu, Lemlem Hailu, Meshesha, Embaye ...
In this race 5 European women got the 4:04.20 Eugene standard who didn't previously have it (Kristiina Maki already had it from Tokyo last year). Some big PBs too. Here's the significant European results (with an eye towards Munich in August too) ...

Super run by Natalia Kaczmarek (POL), winning in 50.16 (a 0.56s PB) and possibly setting herself up as the favourite for Gold in Munich.

Big throw by 19yo Elina Tzengko, improving in the Jav to 65.40, a PB by almost 1.5m.

In the Women's PV Norway's Lene Retzius added 13cm to the NR she improved last week by vaulting 4.65!
