But then you wonder if some of the quieter ones might be nursing injuries. It goes both ways

Exactly! Sometimes it pans out, sometimes not. Let's see how they do at their trials first.

A prediction from me; if all the athletes, Hall, Ross, Cunningham, Steiner get in the first 3 in the Trials,,one at least will hit a wall at the WC in mid July .Even Farnbulleh and he is Liberian. Of course, I may be utterly wrong but many of these athletes are to compete against athletes who are being quite cagey about how often they compete before the Trials.
Holloway,Norman and a number of Americans dont seem to have competed that much so far this year. Sensibly cautious.

I would expect her to try.

    She should do both, surely?

We've been here so many times before with American college athletes that I'll just wait and see and get excited as and when appropriate!

Not quite sure what that proves, but is Steiner going for both sprints.?

Same for some of the other top college athletes, such as Anna Hall, Trey Cunningham, Randolph Ross, etc. The WCs are earlier than usual this year, so the effect may be less.

Can Steiner keep it up through theTrials and WC if required; she's been at it hard since Feb.. Pro next year. That will be interesting.

Just about every meeting this year so far , in DL meets and other CT meets has either had cool, rainy, and windy conditions or combinations of all three. Just spring though. Is it that Pacific water temperature condition 🙄

Incredible leg. Gabby Thomas also has sub-50 credentials from the Ivy League Championships a while back.

Her split was 48.92 which doesn't surprise as she took 2-3 seconds out of some of the other women on her leg.

I can certainly see her running in the US 4x4 team if she qualifies for the 200m. The US could field a superb team with no flat 400 specialists with her, Mu, McLaughlin and Muhammad.

And Steiner's 3rd leg on the 400m relay is also very impressive! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9dcceSXnyE
