Robert DQ, not a big surprise really, it was pretty blatant.

At the Paris DL meeting, French 800m no.1 Benjamin Robert smashes his PB with a 1:43.75 as he barged through past Tony Van Diepen and countryman Tual to take the win in the last 30m or so. Aussie Peter Bol was 2nd and took apart the Area and National records with a 1:44.00. Van Diepen himself set a 2nd consecutive PB with 1:44.14 in 3rd place, while Gabriel Tual also ran a lifetime best with 1:44.23.

Brilliant finish by Benjamin Robert in France, but it was definitely a bit physical there. In a champs there would be protests.

Must be relatively localised as we’re in Stockholm and it’s a glorious evening here…..

The rain in Kuortane is bothering all the Women's Jav throwers except Liz Gleadle who's thrown a 63.33 SB. Two rounds to go.

In the LJ Kristian Pulli nearly had a nasty accident, his foot slipping on the board and landing very awkwardly on one leg.

Yeah, heavy rain, expected to last several hours, and a "high" temperature of 14C throughout... Don't expect any worthwhile performances there, certainly nothing for anybody looking WC qualifying times/distances/heights.

Vojvodina is a region of Serbia of which the capital is the country's second city, Novi Sad. I suppose it's a bit like Chris Tomlinson doing the TJ at the Northern Champs about 15 years ago having concentrated on LJ for several years.

Don't sleep on the Balkan Championships this weekend. There's lots of good athletes competing and some nice line-ups. The details are now updated in the latest document in the Live Streaming Links thread. Startlists at http://www.balkan-athletics.eu/2022/...%20Craiova.pdf

One thing that really stood out from the startlists ... ... Ivana Vuleta is in the Long Jump AND Triple Jump.

Before last weekend she hadn't Triple Jumped in competition for 8 years but at the Vojvodina Championships (!) six days ago she jumped 13.80, improving her PB by 2cm. There's a nice field for that event with Karydi, Danismaz, Nacheva & Akgoz (TUR) who've all jumped 13.79 or better this year. So, she might not have it all her own way.
