Dean Macey went from 7480 in 1996 to 8347 in the next dec he completed, admittedly three years later in 1999, but I think interrupted by injury. So over a long period chronologically, but a short one in terms of being able to train and compete.Comment

Thks for the info. What is tougher than Sams great improvement is possibly that the lower the original, the easier to improve. Garland was already at a world class level over 8100 with his improvement, but sadly the only guy here to excite me has gone backwards, Duckworth.👍 1Comment

Nearly every field is a cracker at Doha this Friday, live on BBC2 at 5pm.
Faith Kipyegon in the 3000 ... is this the start of a move up to the 5000 this year, leaving the door open for Our Laura to maybe win a world title? (Don't know what Hassan's plans are).

Main excitement being Thomas Roehler’s return to the runway after 3 years.
Safe in the knowledge nothing went wrong it always makes me chuckle when I watch his 93.90 and see just how close he got to spearing a totally impassive cameraman.Comment

Nothing Kibet with the win in the 800m at Doha. Along with his World Indoor medal, he is absolutely one to watch, as he's still a junior next year!!! Rowden well in the mix in 4th place in a World Class field.Comment

Fantastic finishes in the two 3000m races! I do enjoy watching Soufiane El Bakkali run. He's always good value for money!Comment

I believe you will see DAS best this year in August, not in time for the WC.And I also think that applies to other elite Brits in the womens 800 and 1500m
This years crowded calendar will produce other European and African performances way later than Eugene.Comment
