I can understand Mu running a 1500 or mile for winter fitness but she would be better off in a slightly lower-level race. She is one of the best 400 runners in the world and pretty much nobody is ever truly world-class at both 400 and 1500. Even if a really top class 800 runner is of similar ability at 400 and 1500 they won't be close to true world class at either.

Ireland's Ruby Millet, still just 20 years old, and a finalist at the European U23's long jump last year in Tallinn, has produced the leap of her life with a 6.40m effort in the 5th/6th place jump off at the DNA Indoor match in Glasgow just a few minutes ago. It's an outright lifetime best for her, indoor and out, with a previous PB at 6.32m.Last edited by RunUnlimited; 05-02-22, 16:01.

Rather confusingly at the Hustopečské skákání High Jump meeting they have a mascot that appears to resemble a frog ... However, they've named it "Kwak" !
Women's comp with Mahuchikh, Borthwick etc just about to start (4pm) - live streaming at https://www.hustopece.cz/sledujte-pr...cskeho-skakani
EDIT : Proceedings delayed - workmen doing something with the flooring!Last edited by LuckySpikes; 05-02-22, 17:09.

Though according to Google Translate, "Croak" is actually "Kunkat", so that theory of mine is straight out of the window!Last edited by RunUnlimited; 05-02-22, 17:23.

These High Jumping women all have trendy music choices to jump to. I'm expecting one or two of the men will have some AC/DC !
Mahuchikh making an unusual choice - she failed twice at her opening 1.85 height then skipped to 1.89 for her 3rd attempt. It paid off. Ten women including the Brits got over 1.85.
Borthwick now over 1.89.

Something in the air/water in Hustopece? Mariya Vukovic also over 1.95, an indoor NR.
... Mahooch out at 1.95 ! So it's down to Borthwick & Vukovic attempting 1.98.
EDIT : Final result ...
1 Borthwick 1.95 (three good attempts at 1.98)
2 Vukovic 1.95 NR
3 Mahuchikh 1.92Last edited by LuckySpikes; 05-02-22, 19:07.
