When I first saw Toby Makoyawo run in 2018 he had the worst technique I had ever seen. It was bizarre to watch him compete against young sprinters and keep up with them, despite this. Every year I've seen him since, I've always had the same thought 'He looks better, but he still has lots to do'. Blessed with a great physique, all the hard work he and his coaches have put in is starting to pay off. He is going to run very fast this year. He's the biggest male sprint talent since Prescod.

I (and several others on this site) have been saying much the same about Hunt since her incredible performance in Mannheim in 2019.

Personally, I see her running faster still in the 60m this winter, definitely into the 7.1s at least, and one of the qualifiers for the World Indoors in March (along with Neita). Hunt is looking a lot more like the relaxed, happy and carefree athlete that she was as a 17 year old, and when she is like that, she can run super fast times

He's gone to a great technical coach at Boston - Gabe Sanders. That's why everything is coming together. It will be exciting to see what Toby does for the rest of the indoor season, then outdoors.

Hilary Gode a fairly new name in the women's u20 60m, pb of 7.47 today in the heats of the age group champs and looking strong. The main contenders ran a bit more conservatively, but it should be a good final later.

Dante Legister wins the U17 men's 60m in 6.84, a new PB and puts him up joint 4th on the UK U17 all time list, joining HAA and Alex Nelson

A fantastic U20 women's 60m final, with Nia Wedderburn-Goodison and European U20 100m bronze medallist Joy Eze both crossing the line virtually side to side. Eze gets the win in 7.36, a new PB, just 4000ths of a second ahead of Wedderburn-Goodison who was given the same time

I would have to dig out the tweet/comment on this forum but I recall some poster highlighted the potential of both these two and a couple of others as young female sprinters to watch, i think it was even pre-pandemic, lets hope they stay fit and healthy.

Joy Eze edged out Nia WG in the final with a 7.46 pb; Hilary Gode another pb 7.42 to take 3rd.

Michael Onilogbo pb'd to win the men's with 6.72.

Some really fast times in Boston. European indoor record of 12.57.08 for Marc Scott (in 3rd); 13.03.64 for Sam Atkin.

3.35.32 for Neil Gourley puts him 3rd on the British all time list indoors.

Amber Anning has edged her 200 pb down again to 23.27, a day after a good 52.07 at 400, very close to her indoor pb.

On day 2 of the English Athletics U20/U17/15 Championships, Success Eduan wins her opening heat of the U-20 200m in 24.03. An impressive performance considering this was her first appearance over this distance indoors since 2020, and it's a indoor PB for her too.

A heat earlier, the UK U20 leader this year Sophie Walton had won her heat in impressive fashion.
