      What Jimbo said

Super from Emily, she’s getting close to the British record now.

Yeah, I know, she was Laura Muir's replacement. But the on-screen clock showed 2:04.73 as do the official results at https://dna.run/wp-content/uploads/2...0_C73A-1.0.pdf

yep, she ran an 800 before the televised event, the 2.04 was her 2nd 800 of the day

Ah, OK. I'm seeing her "pre-meet" 2:00.70 now at https://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/71984-2/

It had me confused that both were quoted as point 73 !

Thought the commentator on the DNA stream might have mentioned her new PB but no, he went with her old one.

According to Ian Hodge's twitter page, Toby Makoyawo, European U20 100m champion last year, has further lowered his 60m PB yesterday in America, running 6.65 and 6.64 respectively. On top of that he won both races and is so far undefeated in 6 outings this indoor season.

Also ran 20.73 in the 200, according to the Twitter page of his University. Outdoor PB is 21.05 from last year, and I can't find any history of indoor 200s in the past few years. Impressive progress, and a very stylish looking sprinter - Some stride on him.

Interesting comment as last year I thought he had the speed but was very straggly. Good news if he’s improved his technique!

Below par 13.10 in the Shot but much better in Long Jump with 6.37. By my calculations something close to 2.15 in the 800m and she'll get a Pentathlon PB.

4597 pb for Holly. 1 point away from snatching the win from Sulek!

apparently she had a niggle with her knee which is why she stopped at 1.72 in the high jump

Decent result for Holly. Her and Sulek are.currently ranked top 2 indoors this year so hopefully that will be enough to qualify her for World Indoors.

If she can put it all together, a score of 6700 could be on the cards.

Well done Isobel Boffey - 3rd in the NB Indoor Gold meeting in 2:01.37 PB, a World Indoors standard. Natoya Goule won in 1:59.62.

Great run from Boffey, mixing it well in a world class field and ended up jumping up inside the top 20 all time UK performers over indoor 800m.

Only 2 field events at this meeting - the M TJ & W LJ. The TJ is over and the LJ doesn;t start for another 15 mins so we're not missing anything when the US TV channel go to their ad breaks every 6 minutes and we get the arena long shot on the stream for 3 minutes.

Good times for the 3 Brits in the M 3000 but all trailing in the wake of Adel Mechaal who ran a 7:30.82 European Record. Two NRs for Guatemala & Switzerland too!

Lorraine Ugen looks like she's back in some form, currently leading the women's long jump at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in New York, with a best of 6.62m so far. Jazmin Sawyers is in 4th place at the moment with a season's best of 6.28m

And now Ugen improves to 6.70m in the 3rd round, which is a meeting record apparently.

More PBs in the 3000, this time for the women - Markovc 8:44.15 & Nesbitt 8:48.48 (though Nesbitt has run 8:44.9 in a mixed race indoors). Both well behind Debues-Stafford though - 8:33.92 NR.

Lorraine Ugen ended up winning the long jump contest, further improving out to another meeting record distance of 6.71m in round 4. Jaz Sawyers best was 6.34m for 5th place, a season's best.

Amy Hunt Runs 300m Indoors in 37.61. Where does that put her in the UK's all time rankings? Good experience for her or not? I'm on the fence.

Testing the waters for her potential at 400 perhaps?

That run puts her 9th on the UK's all time list for indoor 300m, though the top four times listed were recorded from 400m runs and hand timed (the top time of 36.0 being from Nicola Sanders outstanding 50.02 British record in 2007.) So Hunt's time for an official 300m puts her in 5th place overall.

Personally I thought was a good run and a good experience for her. Going up against the likes of Gabby Thomas and being not that far away from her at the end would be pretty heartening.
