Gidey debuts in Valencia and within ten days we should see her competitors there. At another website, I have listed 14 I think could be brave and rested enough to step up to the challenge. Some have yet to compete in this second half of the year, others have had a DNS or a DNF. If they are not injured, they could be heading for Spain?

List of athletes named for Valencia. Not as deep as I had expected. I thought more with sub 2.21 bests may have entered

A fourth sub 2.16 might come from Bekere or Dereje.
None of the five named went sub 2.16 but assefa, beriso, and Ruth did

I imagine London start list may be available in the next week. Imagine an all-star set of seven women going toe-to-toe.

Top two in Tokyo now have two quick finishes each. Enough to push out any of my ten?

Of course changes are needed after this week. I would still start with Ruth and YY but include Obiri before Assefa and Peres. A full ten soon. It’s not usually my practice to include a woman after a debut but Hassan was just that good.
