Did you spot Piotr Lisek's fan club in the stands? Of those 5 ladies making a lot of noise for him, all but one was middle-aged or in her 60s.

Prescod's technique far from smooth, too much lateral movement. Hoping for a drama and injury free 2022.

Our 8th sub 46 400m is Efe Okoro in 45.94 at the Manchester International. Given the conditions were not great this looks to be worth low 45 if Efe can get into a suitable race somewhere between now and the end of the season. Predicted sub 46 for Efe at the English Champs, i'm glad it's finally come good for him. Off to check the last time we had 8 sub 46 in a year and the season is not over yet.

If power of 10 is correct it is 2015 - we had 11 sub-46 then. Since their records started (2006), we've had a couple of years with 11, one with 10 and then this year's 8 is the next best.
What is mildly interesting is the fact that this year is the one with the most sub 46 by U23 athletes. Sprouts of hope growing, if not exactly a forest quite yet!

Kristal Awuah pulled up injured towards the end of one of the guest races at Manchester earlier and had to be helped off the track. Hopefully less bad than it looked. Youngster Success Eduan won the race and looked as if she might have won anyway.

the lads commentating on the Manchester International (very well I might say) joked how Nia W-G, would only be at her peak next decade!!

carterhatch haha ill feed that back to Scott, the commentator is a guy from out club and wider squad.

They were much better than what we're getting on the World u20s on the BBC. (Actually Hannah England is OK but the other commentator is awful. Enthusiastic, and not uninformed, but seems to be reading awkwardly off an autocue with awkward pauses where the sentence doesn't need one. And stuff like "There are 8 men through to the final! And 8 women through to the final too!".)
