Hassan. That was a remarkable run.... she just waited and pounced.

Hassan had a lot of energy left despite all those races... Didn't think she'd run away from Gidey like that. Did all the work , I guess - just didn't have a response at the end.

Wish those lapped runners had got out of the way .

McColgan not terrible, but always feels like she could do a bit more with better tactics

She was only around 6 seconds off her PB - a great run in the heat and with that early pace.

I always think the 5000 is her better event, she gave a reasonable account of herself

Terrific run for Hironaka in 7th, the first non-African-born athlete, an 11s PB and agonisingly close to sub-31. Three races at these Games, and 3 PBs including a NR.

BBC.. total morons. Just watched the 10 k race and so they show it again on bbc 1.. thank god not all the race. What overpaid clown makes these crazy decisions ?
Do they imagine that nobody has the brains to keep checking on the other available channel, in this case it was channel 601 showing the whole race

There's not a huge amount of other action on... javelin is not very high quality so far.

Women's HJ? Possibly if Morgan was there we'd be seeing a bit more of that.

US 4x4 Women's Relay team is the dream team of McGlaughin, Felix, Muhammad, Mu.

            Jamaica, McGregor, Russell, Jackson, McLeod.

Ours is Pipi, Williams, Diamond, Yeargin.

The World record could go if US don't drop the baton.

I’m surprised the US have put SMc on lead off, as she could have run a 48.x later on but interesting to see her time compared to the open 400m.

GBR team looks right - Jodie seems to prefer a middle leg and Yeargin ran well on anchor in the heats

I think that’s the Right gb team but I’d have had Jodie last. US team is insane

Mu had just come off a season of NCAA, so is pretty used to relay exchanges, to be fair.

Bless Paula, but I don’t think it’s just “heart” that’s getting Hassan these performances, otherwise we’d all be delivering medals!

I like the UK team of Pipi, Williams, Diamond, Yeargin - Williams will make sure GB are in the mix after 2 legs and then it is all guts.

WHJ news: only two over 1.96 at the first attempt (Geraschenko and Patterson) but most of the field is still there. All to play for.

I think it was me on this board a few weeks back who declared him the biggest favourite in the sport.

Didn't you say he was much more likely to win his event than Ryan Crouser the shot?

Brilliant Josh - GB middle distance running is in a fine place. Great champs for Norway.

Fantastic run by Josh Kerr to get bronze in a very fast race. Congratulations to Jakob Ingebrigtsen for the win.
