Possible record for the slowest time run with all splits under 46!

Lawton is one thing but I think the rest of it is crass.

SprintRelayFan I think it's all quite light hearted. Banter and all that. I've also been enjoying them bombarding that Times 'journalist' Matt Lawton who did that odious hit job article on Oliver Dustin

Understandable, but I find a team consisting of a blatant cheat even harder to stomach.

Guilty admission - I was delighted that Italy won. I can’t summon any enthusiasm for a team containing Kilty, NMB and Hughes.

Kilty was quoted in the mixed zone: “Forget the Roman Empire, Nero, all that nonsense. This is as big as it gets for them. They better soak it in. We're better than them and we'll beat them next yr.”

No class. Him calling NMB a “legend” in the BBC interview was laughable - sort of thing beered up groups of lads say about each other in the pub on a Friday night before getting into a fight in a taxi rank.

I do because they flooded the GB athletics instagram post congratulating our team to crow.

Realise I'm horribly late to this thread but just wanted to give a little credit to Ireland's Fionnuala McCormack.
Consecutive top 25 finishes in the last two Olympic marathons is, in it's own way, quietly impressive. Was such a shame to see Steph Twell struggling today, but at least she finished. Those conditions looked brutal

Would have been even worse if they hadn't brought the start forward an hour!

The stars did seem to align ... for the Italians. I dont begrudge them the gold, they have had a remarkable Olympics.

Given prescod twice started earlier than he should I would have had zero confidence he’d have taken the baton at the right time

Yeah clearly low confidence after his own event and heartbreakingly just couldn't pull away from Italian. So hard to take because US will be back in Paris and Jamaica won't be that bad again either. That bloody injury to Adam really cost us hugely in the end

Should Prescod have run the anchor leg as he's 100m runner, he tied up in the individual 200m heats but sickening it happened again.

Not a great result by the British team. Obviously conditions were tough, at least 14 non finishers including Chepngetich.
