We did all we could but Tortu is currently quicker than NMB.

Oh so close! Gemili's injury the difference there.

Very good point. We came within a couple of hundredths of the British record without Gemili... If Gemili was in it....

The men managed to do with their stretched changes what the women didn't pull off.

If Reece Prescod was only more disciplined and could be trusted in this team we could have won.

An in-form NMB not only wins that, but would have smashed the European and British record, and obviously won the gold medal.

The Italian team with Jacobs, Desalu and Tortu is pretty good.

                    • well, I would take that gentleman, the stars were never going to align better for this group ... each will have a different 'take-away' ... CJ Ujah will be here for Paris, Hughes had so much speed, Kilty, a fabulous bend, NMB, I think should look to my 'project sub-3' ...

I was wondering whether his future may lie in the 4.

                    • Italians having an absolutely astounding games

                      • NMB so disappointed but he's not been in the best form. Gemili injured and Prescod's lack of practice cost us a memorable second gold, but Italy have been inspired all champs

                        • Wow . So close...

Sure I'd have loved the gold : but surely no-one can complain about that ? (Except after the football this getting pipped by Italy is getting a bit wearing ! )

Also Richard Kilty has moved up in my estimation again : not only did he run a wonderful third leg ; but he was quick to put all his energy into consoling Mitchell-Blake and telling him emphatically he had not let them down. He might have been a bit of a .... once but I reckon he's grown.

No joy in the individuals ; but the relays have been damn good. I'll take that.

Kilty also very generous in his interview. Loved what all of the men had to say CJ and Zharnel emphasised the team aspect and everyone behind them. NMB will look back and realise they did great.

Agree with all. Kilty seems to have grown up. Maybe someone at UKA let him know he needed to change his attitude or maybe he matured when he became a father?

                        • Kilty will never win an individual medal outdoors, but he's now found his specialism as been a bend runner in the 4 x 100, with the absence of Danny Talbot.

He's developed the relay spot over the last few years. Thought Hughes took some yards on the back straight, But Kilty ran a blinder....

Hughes and Kilty both had excellent legs.
