Well you couldn't reasonably expect much better... the event is in a real dip in Britain at the moment. They tried their best and 3.03 was it.

The under 20's gives some hope for the future , does it not ?

Other than MHS, it looks like all the sub 45.50s since 2015 are by guys who are now past their best like Yousif, Rooney and Cowan or have vanished like Caddick, Dunn and Delano Williams.

trickstat Caddick has made a grand total of *6* track appearances since 2017, his last one, a solitary 200 m run (outside 21 seconds) in the USA in June.

Dunn hasn't run outdoors since 2018, with no results at all since winter 2019.

Delano Williams has been a non-factor since running 44 second relay legs in the 2015 World Championships and 2016 European Championships. In fact, since 2017, he seems to have returned to running 200 m... and not very successfully at that.

2 golds and 2 bronze already today; I like Andy Butchart's chances of continuing the streak. 😎

Do you need to be taken away to lie down in a quiet place?

He can only win one silver to complete the set!

          Perhaps he's following Katir?

Chalmers has been the best Brit by far all week. He and his brother need some speedwork this winter and he could be a sub-45 man

Possible record for the slowest time run with all splits under 46!

Excellent run from Cheptegui, and brilliant from Ahmed in silver.

What happened to Katir? (Apart from me jinxing him by picking him in the prediction contest of course.)

I fancied him to win as well but he did look surprisingly tired when he was trying to move up with a couple of laps to go.

Great run Cheptegui ... won as a brave effort like that deserves to .

            =PB for Jodie

Feel bad for the Cuban - that probably ends their 4x4 chances

SMU showed she is a true champion there. 48.36 is astonishing.

Veteran Felix in bronze, with the Jamaicans disappointed in 4th and 5th.

2 sub 50 runs back to back, she can walk away with her head held high. A seasons best from butchart too so fair play to the guy, he seems to get a fair bit of stick on here but I'm not sure the reason.

General personality and fake covid test. But yes, he ran as well as we could have expected.
