3.56 for a semi for Kipyegon. She's sending a message to Hassan.

Bloody hell! 3:56.8 for a semi.

Jessica Hull & Nozomi Tanaka with sub-4 National Records ! 3:58.81 and 3:59.19 respectively. Tanaka has taken 4.9s off her own NR at these Games!

Purrier only 6th in 4:01.00 but could go through.

I'd have thought they'd really need to push it in the second for her not to

Could have taken something out of the athletes in this heat for the final.

Well done to Jessica Hull with that area record. No McGee or Chebet...

Snowden not quite as fast as in the heat but betters her pre-games PB again. A good outing for her.

        Unless there's a protest. I didn't see what happened with Chebet's fall.

A PB is always an excellent result.

4:01.23 NR for Czech Kristiina Maki too, taking over 3s off her best!

One thing I will say about LM is that she is a consummate heat runner,

I really want Faith to win tomorrow, that's all I'll say.

Indeed. I hope Laura can get 3rd, I guess the Ethiopian and the Ugandan main competition? Or Debues-Stafford as well?

Brilliant run by Marta Perez in 5th, 4:01.69, taking 3s off her PB.

And a third NR of the week for Finland's Sara Kuivisto in 7th, 4:02.35.

Purrier & Maki the fastest losers from semi #1.

11.94 shot from KJT, not very good even for her. 14.82 for Thiam.

Outside of Doha that's the furthest she's ever thrown! Perhaps we all wrote her off too early?

Lol, I was just scrutinising her P10 profile to discover the same thing.

Much better in the second round! 13.31 is not bad at all for her.

Fair play to Kat. She’s obviously not at her best, but giving it a good lash so far.

Paulino really something hey? Mcleod looked very easy though. Think Hayes will make it

Wow, 49.39 for Paulino in her semi. US champion Hayes in 4th, probably unlikely to get a FL spot.

Then again, the next 2 heats each only have 1 athlete who's broken 50 this year.
                    Working...
