And Michael Johnson pretty much said what I was thinking just now in the studio about SMU's form shown so far.

RunUnlimited, you should sue MJ for plagiarism.

        • Another NR. Impressive the ladies pulling these out the bag in driving rain...
And this is what's missing so far from team GB - we had two good PBs in the 1500 earlier but there seems to be a lack of stepping up across the piece

*So far*, Daryll has produced the best British performance.

Markovc got a PB in the 5000.

Yes (and deserves praise for that), but she didn't make the final. Daryll did, and 10.95 is a world class time. Pre-Dina it would have been a massive British record too.

        • Outside lanes in H3 must be thanking their lucky stars. Another last place for GB.

Must have been something wrong with her. Pity...

Yeah, pretty clearly hindered by an injury.

        • Jess Turner seems to be hurt

          • Femke Bol makes qualifying look easy and the last 50 meters were run at a jog, and she *still* ran 53.91. Jessica Turner looked like she was injured and she trailed in next to last, way off the pace.

            • Weather is almost Gateshead levels of vile, except that it's presumably warmer.

              • At least Turner was about to hurdle without slipping... impressive in these conditions. Somehow, the UK #1 on the other hand, found a way to slip up on a bone dry, hot day two days earlier.....

As you say that, the torrential rain, literally like someone flipping a switch, stopped dead.

                  • Does Denise not watch athletics unless the BBC are paying her? Apparently Bol hasn't had battles on the circuit... Shamier Little says hello, Denise.

Given the week they're having I was almost expecting an Italian victory

They won their first title in '68 and '64 was the last non-Kenyan winner other than 1976 and 1980 when they boycotted.

                        • they're back out in the field
