    Big surprise that!
It looked to me like she wanted to be eliminated, no looking round or anything. Either way, why do that and waste all the great work you've done in the 200 this year.

And I'm doubly annoyed because she was my gold medal pick in the Prediction Contest!

I'm doing fairly rubbish in the predictions but Tentoglou and Echevarria both jumped my exact predicted winning mark in the LJ s I'm very grateful to them

Yeah, it makes a big difference getting the full 16 points. I'll only get 5 points for my 8.52m prediction.

Katie Snowden is quite posh for an athlete, LOL.

She is a member of the 'sarf' London club, Herne Hill Harriers (AKA 'erne 'ill 'arriers) who have something of a reputation with their 'Dennis the Menace' red and black hooped vests. However, I think Katie actually attended a private school.

Prandini proving what I have banged on about repeatedly - athletes running insane times in perfect conditions at the US trials weren't going to repeat them...

Almost half a second PB for Riley Day - That came from nowhere after a few years of stagnation.

            .....

The longer I'm watching these heats and semi-finals of the women's 200 m, the more I'm convinced a fully fit Dina would be a huge favourite for gold or silver....

Also, after all the hype for Prandini after her sub 22 second run in the US Trials, (with folks talking up her chances of pushing Dina off the podium behind the likes of Thomas and Richardson) she looked *awful* in this semi-final.

She was the favourite before injury, 100%. The only people who could have beaten her were (possibly) Thomas, or one of the Namibians doing something crazy that might subsequently result in them being excluded from the 200m going forward...).

Yep, pretty much what I was thinking. Now I'm interested in seeing what Gabby Thomas is going to do with her 21.61 in Eugene.

Was ETH's plan in the heat to get an outside lane in the semi with the gentle bend?

Thomas will presumably get through as an FL with 22.01!!!!!

                WJR for Mboma.

                        And further confirmed by Thomas?

Less so there - 22.01 in a semi ain't messing about!

No, but she got run down by Mboma and didn't seem able to respond. Even if Thomas runs something like 21.85 in the final, there's a big difference between that and 21,61.

Anavia Battle, 21.95 at the US Trials, very poor here too.

Quite something when a DSD athlete excluded from her best event is not the most eyebrow-raising aspect of a race.

It should never be allowed - if there is an Advantage in one event then there is an advantage in another. 100/200m dopers in the past took testosterone - male and female- nuts!
