Welp, that's it for one of our "best" events heading into these Olympics. No men make it into the final. Ugh.

Yes - doing a season best just isn’t good enough.

Sad for Giles. No one took it out, he did everything he could and ran a 1:44.7 solo but not quite enough. He'd have made it in Heat 2...

I think Giles did the sensible thing in taking it out, just not quite enough.

I suspect we'll see a protest and nine in the final. Pity none of them is British.

I notice that Jewett and Amos made sure they finished which is important.

Rojas almost jumped out of the pit there.... that looked like a 15.80 jump... but it was well over the plasticine too.

Rowen ran on the inside and never had a chance and when Giles ran it from the front you just knew....

Aussies are having a blinding meet aren't they!

It looks like they've used their isolation to focus on the OG rather than leave it on the circuit.

          Korea's Woo another PB at 2.35. Woo-hoo!

Rojas will surely jump a WR soon if not today. Currently leading an Iberian language 1-2-3-4.

Rowden ran the same way as Dobek. But Dobek got very lucky in the straight and Rowden did not

Spot on. Dobek ran a tactically poor race too, as you say he got lucky.

What a men's high jump final! FOUR men now over 2.35 m! Woo (who is doing lots of "Woooing" in celebration!) sets a national record.

Look at these performances with NO spectators.... Imagine what it would have been like with a full crowd??

Seven men have cleared 2.33m in the high jump. That has never happened in any competition before.

Tamberi & Barshim bucking their recent form by being flawless up to 2.35.

Brilliant HJ final. 4 guys over 2.35 and 3 passing one or more attempts to go for 2.37.
