    • What a load of rubbish. To think some here were saying he’d medal! I know it wasn’t the easiest heat but as I said should never have gone

I think most of us thought he was very very lucky to be picked by UKA. He *might* win a medal at some point in the future, if he can pull himself together.

At least it was a SB which is better than some of our athletes.

    • Well, doesn't matter, Reece is out

      • I'm liking new nations doing well in these sprints. Switzerland, Italy, Kenya. 10.12 SB for Reece, but I fear he is on the path to squandering his talent.

            Presumably the relay too

I think she’s doing the relay, according to BBC news

I assume she will want to speak to the other girls. I didn’t hear her say one way or another about it

        • Ah bugger, Dina trying to hold it together is pulling at my heart strings. Poor girl. All class.

          • Ah hah! That explains Dina's lack of form... AND I remember some folks noted her run in the British Trials final where she looked not herself halfway through that race.... No wonder. Hamstring tear.

I mean the guy did a season's best in that heat (with an awful start and some luck being in there and not DQ) and is the 3rd fastest Brit this year. We can all agree that he's not making the best of his talent but he still deserved to be there.

As you say…he was lucky not to be disqualified, one of the better athletes got pitched out and then he still didn’t qualify. I just think taking him sent and sends the wrong message

              • She was so lovely and supportive of Daryll.

                • I thought that she was in form to run 10.60 in the 100 and 21.6 in the 200 this year.... When she ran 10.91 at the British Trials, I thought she'd run 10.75 in the final... and she was well on the way to that... when she tore her hamstring midway through the race. What a damn shame.

11.0 off a weeks power training is incredible. Possibly more impressive than 10.9 getting injured mid race. 10.7x for commonwealth gold at home next summer girl - We believe in you 🙌🏻

I'll absolutely take that... Remember, it's also a World Championship year too. Hmm... 10.80 in the Commonwealths then a 10.71 in Eugene perhaps?

                • What an honest, human interview. Love her.

                  • She needs to get her hamstring sorted (in retrospect maybe she should have gone for the operation straight away and jettisoned this Olympics) and hopefully can get herself back for next year.

                    • Again, watch the trolls on Twitter (Piers Sh**bag Morgan leading the way no doubt) attack Dina's interview for being a "weak, crybaby SJW". Or attacking her for how secretive she was about her injury and not being honest and up front about it. I was seeing some of the reactions to her semi final run and loads of "Overhyped" and "What a load of rubbish" along with "LOL" and laughter emojis.

                        Morgan is a sexist pig.

It's a huge mistake to allow vermin like that to take up even a fraction of a nanosecond of your attention. I'm very glad in retrospect that I was booted off Twatter after just a few months and remain in blissful ignorance of these storms in teacups.

                    • Prescod gets another run as a small q

Ha, was just looking through and thought he may have done. Well fair enough, less bad result than I thought. Ujah performing as usual
