That's Sweden's first gold medal in an Olympics since Carolina Kluft and Christian Olsson won gold in the heptathlon and triple jump respectively, at the 2004 edition in Athens.

I don't think I'm doing too well this time. I definitely messed up my w800.

In the Prediction Contest I don't think anyone had Petersson medaling. Quite a lot had 1st and 3rd correct though.

And to think the British selectors for Berlin 2018 said that Alex Bell isn't a major championship performer when justifying her ommission from the team ...

She's never let her country down in a major champs!

2018 Comm Games - 5th in the final (and fiirst Brit)
2019 World Ch - 5th in semi final
2019 European XC Mixed Relay - she ran a storming leg
    2021 Olympic final !

Also, it's pretty mind-blowing that 1:59.28 (Rodgers' time in the final semi) wasn't fast enough for a non-automatic time. (6 runners in that last semifinal all ran under 2 minutes btw)

I thought Keely had left it late! That was astonishing

Three Brits in the 800 final, just the boost team GB needed.
