    Heartbreaking for Jessie.

It would be *just* like the GB track team to drag down all the other teams by only landing, like, one medal throughout and have a bunch of embarrassing disasters punctuate their 10 day programme.....

Medals are going to be scarce for these British athletes. Look poorly prepared and even allowing for the oppressive conditions, basic fitness seems a factor.

Are you all reading too much into one freak incident or what?

Not a good 5 minutes for the Jamaican Women's 400m Hurdlers - one DQ for a lane infringement, and another for a false start.

Jessica Turner safely through in Heat 4.

Not usually. One slight advantage of a 3 semi system is that a withdrawal perhaps has less effect on the actual qualifiers.

This reply was before I heard about the drug test which technically means that her run from the heat was disqualified.

Hmm.... Any reason given for her pulling out?

Some carnage in the 400h heats. Poor Jess Knight falling at the first hurdle and then Whyte and Nugent the two Jamaicans both DQ...

Bol impressive : can she challenge the two yanks ?

That’s an awesome top 3 at the minute- and of course little who’s not even here

The screen captions on the TV results are showing PBs which is fine but are showing as blank if they are national records etc!

Not expecting Van Klinken to medal. That 70m in Split was a huge outlier for her.

It was in Tucson. I think you may be getting mixed-up with Andrejczyk's JT?

Wherever it was, like Andrejczyk's mark, it was a huge outlier for her.

Yet the Olympics website does show NR, SB and PB. Normally the systems for online and TV are linked to the same database. Not so, it seems at the Olympics!

Really? She did follow that up with winning the European U23s with a 63.05 m

Yeah, what's her 2nd best comp this year? 65? A big difference from 70 !

1:43.75 in the opening heats of the men's 800 m? Damn! Giles through nicely though.
