  • I cannot see any better than 4th or 5th for Giles and Rowden in the 800m. .Rotich, Arop, Lopez and a couple of others look too good., but the race may well be affected by Jewett who may set a fast pace and then who knows.Stranger things happen.

    • I feel as if Giles is smart at least. He may not have the legs to live with whoever wins it but at least he won’t just capitulate like some of the others we’ve had

I think whoever goes with Mu when she kicks with 300m to go will blow up and miss a medal. Goule has made that mistake in the past. I hope Jemma is't the one to do that this time a la Our Laura. Strongly fancy Rogers to make her customary late run and sneak a medal. Expecting Jemma 4th, Keely, 6th and Alex 7th.
One of Keely’s strengths is she runs her own race and isn’t overly influenced by what others are doing. In this instance it led to her being near the back of the field with 100 to go, but she was clear of the traffic and able to plot her path unhindered. See runs the same way pretty much every race - I can’t remember her sitting on the curb all season

Her splits were 28.5 - 31.5 - 30.3 - 28.8. Her last 200 was quicker than anyone’s, even Rogers. Mu’s from the first semi was 30.0 but she was clear of the field at this point. I’ll stick my neck out, I think she’s the most of the three Brits to win a medal

His semi looks to be the toughest of the three but could also be the quickest. He’s up against Jewitt, Rotich, Amos and Tuka. He was slightly unfortunate today having to keep up with that incredibly fast pace set by Bol, it may have taken more out of him than he would have liked.

No, it was Hughes that DQed at trials (taste of things to come). Prescod was just off form and 5th.
