So 8.14 will get Gayle to the final, if he can walk to it

Tajay Gayle, just pulled out an 8.14 jump, heavily strapped, but clearly injured.

Italy with their first sprint medal since Mennea, perhaps? (Or have I missed someone?). I'd love to see him get among the Americans.

Trayvon Bromell not great. Nigerian Adegoke wins heat 2 of the men's 100 m in a 9.98 PB. Zharnel Hughes pips Bromell to the final auto Q position in 10.04 to 10.05

Only 3 little q's available in the M 100 so Bromell will be sweating profusely.

Well, at least we aren't the only people not having a good week. If Hughes fixes his start, he'll be in the mix.

A Nigerian sprinter, built like bison, burning up the track. Lets be frank, it's not a great advert for athletics after recent days news. Whether we like it or not, people will raise eyebrows.
