  • Also, heart goes out to Dasher. And Gayle from Jamaica wins the guts award for today.

    • Life has been too easy for Prescod. He has been making one dumb decision after another, starting with leaving his previous coach Jonas Dodoo. 2019-21 has been a write off, I have grave concerns about his future.

He's just made it through. Prescod might not make the final but don't write him off. Athletics is up and down. We've just seen what's happened to Dina and Brommell. Give the guy a break!

    • What odds on De Grasse winning the least expected sprint double in Olympic history?

      • 10.01 for the Aussie!

        • Great for CJ and Reece.

          • Baker-Yeargin-Diamond-Chalmers the team for the final. Baker needs to get a good start for us to have a chance of a medal.
Swiety in for Poland, but not sure she’s in her best form.

We had a better chance when USA were DQ'd. WIll be a good result to make top 5. I hope we medal but think it's USA, Poland and either Jamaica or Netherlands ahead. Hope I am eating my words in an hour!

              I think that's Baker's international debut!?

Presumably Swiety is still considered a better bet by the Polish management than the 2 who ran well yesterday.

          • Based on my social media feeds and whatsapp groups, Dina just became the nations sweetheart. So much love for her.

              • Reekie and Goule through in the first semi, Ajee Wilson 4th and almost certainly out.

                  • I presume most of you saw a Dina interview with the BBC?

I just saw a great one on Eurosport with Greg Rutherford.

Yes, very emotional. She's wonderful, isn't she? An absolute treasure.

                  • Great running by Jemma. Was worried at the slow pace at the bell but very controlled run.

                    • One thing I like about Reekie is she can run well off both a slow and a fast pace.

And a middling one as some Brits can only deal with either races with pacemakers or dawdles!

                      • Wilson has the fast times but appears to be lacking championship temperament. Big favourite in Doha but only 3rd there.

I know she's not been on top form this year but she's run 1:57 and should have been contending in that semi.

Funny how often that happens with Americans 🤔

If I recall correctly I was first aware of her when she beat Jess Judd to win the World Juniors so it seems odd that she has not nailed it in the seniors yet.
